Im pretty sure Macros are the lines with M_ in front of it.

That is correct. I don't have any macros in the gamedata.ini that I can find but my eyes are not as good as they used to be  .
The water.ini file does not have any macros either.

I must be missing something obvious. Perhaps its the camerasettings.ini?

Wait... what?

Some of the best news I have heard in a long while! :p

The SGB was the primary reason why I never bothered playing with SEE much....there is no way I can play a whole game of BFME in one sitting, much less a game of SEE! Now that these two bugs are fixed, it should be a lot more enjoyable for me. ;)

And of course, armed with this knowledge, we can prevent another mod from facing the same problems!

Thanks :p

Yeah it should work for 4.5 to, but I can't explain it any better than I have. Try and do what I did, and it should cure the problems =)

Apologies for the late reply/bump, it's been a while :p

I thought this was general knowledge, I avoided this in my BFMEI mod by replacing all the macros with their explicit values.

FYI, EA's convention during the development of Generals (and I know as I was involved to a small degree) was to place GameData.INI edits right at the bottom of Object/System.INI in their own Gamedata block. I did this in my BFMEI modtoo and continue to do so with no side effects.

Well I did a little more than that, since we had multiple bugs/problems here, and as far as I know, most other mods have the same problems or wasn't aware of any obvious solution, as we've had these problems for a long time now... =)

Anyways, and you THAT DeeZire... as in the Extended Edition mod?

Has anyone got this working for version 4.5?

Is the method any different for 4.5 than 4.7?

(I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion about the SGC and this fix.)

I'd like to remedy the Saved Games Crash in 4.5.

Thanks

I was able to solve the SGC.
- uninstalled the SEE and BFME2
- Reinstalled BFME2
- applied BFME2 patch
- installed SEE
- I had an issue with the options.ini and I was able to fix that by reading this link:
http://forum.ea.com/...227.page#389679.
- I did not create any custom heroes

I already have options.ini in Application Data\My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files. I've never had a save game crash except when using CAH.

I need to apply the fix to 4.5 to get rid of the save game crash when using CAH. That has been my biggest headache playing the SEE mod.

I moved gamedata.ini from data/ini/object to data/object. See mod is installed to C:\SEE. The mod is working.

Could we get some more details about the macro thing? <3

From what I read, your intial post about the fix was for version 4.7.
Could we get some detailed steps for a 4.5 fix? Thanks.

Unfortunately I still have the save game loading problem. And I did exactly what Nazgul said. I have 1.06 patch and version 4.5.

I just saw this thread, I have this problem with bfme 2, I cannot save games nor the settings, my game doesn't create the "My Battle for middle earth II files" nor does recognize it if created, I just wonder if this fix is only for the SEE mod of if it works with the vanilla also?
