Fountain guards should be limited to one. They also had mithril helmets brought from Numenor. This will make even more sense for only 1 battalion, as Gondor did not have the means to recreate the helmets. Actually, the helmets were the helmets of the mariners of Numenor.

So you think Gondor should only allow one unit of them on the battlefield instead of four, right?

Yes, as the citadel will work better.

Maybe two units would be better---of course, if Nazgul makes the one really powerful...

I think Yams meant one as in "one horde", not 1 single unit! ;)
We won't have less than 4 - either as a horde of 4 or as 4 single units...

;) Your right Nazgul, I did mean 1 horde, I mistyped. I think 1 horde should be the limit. Or maybe Nazgul's idea (four single units) , and could be used as a captain of sorts.

That's better. One would be too lonely, unless he had as much power as a regular hero. :p

How about having the citadel guard as a part of Aragorn's passive sword 'ability' at level eight, so once he gets there he has four fountain guards that stay with him, just like the warg pack where aragorn is the alpha and the fountain guards are his 'pack' he could respawn them at a slow rate so you don't just get them once.

I don't see how that is true to any lore. Something like that would work better with Denethor or someone who was accosiated with Minas Tirith and its guards. Aragorn had frankly nothing to do with them and even after becoming king, we don't know if he had that kind of escort.
Ignited into the world in a flash of lightning, it gleams faintly in the heart of its mother, wood. It begins as an ember, a mere wisp of heat and colour. Its chance of survival at this critical moment is minute, yet it fights on, against the unforgiving cold, against the depths of night and against its mortal enemy: rain.

well I definitely meant it as being a thing after he became king, and I think it could make sense, although I agree its probably not the best thing we could do with them, I'm just throwing ideas around, although keeping on that idea of having them linked to something, if they guarded the white tree, could we come up with a use for the white tree as a structure/fortress upgrade that would bring these guys with it to protect it?
