In any case, for the last time - it's not religion that we have qualms with and want to burn their churches with, but THEIR RELIGION. You know, the one preaching hate and death? For goodness sake, get your facts straight - the rest of the outdated, discriminatory institutionised religions we're happy to just deride.

Although in any religion there are assholes like these, Christianity has the WBC and KKK, Islam has Al-Qaeeda and Taliban and well the Jews they have Israel.

Anyway, we gave the Jews a little nation surrounded by powerful Muslim states who were all lusting after their land, and somehow they have survived the past 60 years. Might I recommend reading up on this delightful little war, in which Israel successfully fought off seven enemy nations and three terrorist organisations, having only become a state in their own right a few months before. Every religion considers them abominations and as long as they only remain on hating them, who gives a fuck. Now Israel on the other hand finds hating muslims a little bit to weak, so they decided to try torture, slaughter, humiliation, building walls and letting them starve to death. And that little war you mentioned, it happened just because the rest of the muslim countries could not stand seeing those poor people tortured to death. And they would free them if the USA have not interfered and threatened to attack Egypt if they did not retreat.

Not for me - if you want to be treated fairly in society, then you must treat others fairly. And that means not preaching against them or spreading your hatred thoughts behind closed doors. Such hatred provokes discrimination and quite frankly these people should be outcasted.

What a pitiful attempt at humour.

I think Romanul was explaining how even if homosexuality derives from a genetic variation, in other words a mutation, then this is in no sense abominable - it defines independence. Much of the pseudo-science employed by homophobes lays emphasis on the genetic mutation factor, thus indicating that a mutation is automatically bad, despite mutations such as sickle cell trait, which studies show heavily reduce the risk of malaria contraction. In any case, they ignore the environmental influence.

Yep

This attitude puzzles me so much. We're pretty sure now that a good number of human behavioural disorders are determined genetically. Example - autism, which has at least a partial basis in genetics. The disorder causes some pretty large behavioural changes. Can people with autism 'choose' to be non-autistic? No... though through extensive training it can be partially overcome.

Therefore, we know that genetic variation can cause behavioural changes. Therefore, there's no reason to say that homosexuality cannot be caused by genetics. The evident counterargument is a listing of people who purport to cure gayness or have been 'cured'. See end of previous paragraph for refutation.

That sounds kinda offensive to gay people though when I put it that way. In the evolutionary sense though, I suspect it's true - homosexuality would be a 'disorder' in the sense that it curbs reproduction of the species. No offense is taken, I hope?

Well, the research is leaning towards being some sort of genetic trait but it is not conclusive yet. It is a topic that has gained much interest in the research community of late. How in the world do you know that it's a choice? All you are doing is stating an opinion that has no weight or backing. That's fine but don't state it as a fact.
