That sounds more like some Chtulu mythos philosophy though. Even though it might be the most prudent perspective on what we are, its not directly healthy for our psyche to go around thinking we are worth nothing.
The meaning of life is to give life meaning. If you go around thinking it's useless and there is no point, you can just string yourself up right away. Religion was one of the first attempts at giving life meaning. Even if we today are no big fans of religion, we shouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater. You should have a goal and a opinion on what you want to do with what you are, and it shouldn't be a self-destructive or ignorant one at that.
Religion is a good start for the majority of humanity, but for the more experienced, a custom philosophy of life is preferable. Regretting to have a philosophy of life because it smells of religion is not a wise move
