GIMP is a good replacement in case you cannot afford Photoshop.

And Tasman, change font style on wallpaper. It will be much better. Dont forget to write "wallpaper by lil tasman", because if you putt only "contra 008 lil tasman" it will be like the whole mod is yours.

Here is another wallpaper by me. I have been learning and toying around with the tools in Photoshop

I prefer BankGothic, but i was thinking about effects on fonts, not the font exactly. The font style is up to you. But when you create text, right click on text layer and select Blending options then play with shadows and light, with color and stuff. You can give more life to text if you choose Filter-Render and then Lens Flare or Lighting options, you can create spark or star on text, glow too. I also recommend you to import picture without letters in 3dsmax and to create 3d letters there and play with video post options and shadows and light. So far, pictures are good, i like creativity, but they are more like screenshot. More effects would make wallpapers more unique and better. Keep up with work
One more suggestion, you can lower the size of wallpaper when you save it as JPEG with photoshop without loosing quality.

Edit: The example of lens flare effect is on my signature here on this Cylons eye. Whole picture is fully made by me. Models are rendered in 3dsmax, lens flare and text are in photoshop. You can make similar on end of text, or on the beginning or anything that cross your mind.

Ok, i'll keep that in mind. I have been using worldbuilder because I like to show the units in combat and action, shooting other units and such... i prefer worldbuilder over 3DS MAX for action scenes. Iv sort of been going for the screenshot look to my wallpapers, because they show actual ingame action.
Il do some more text editing on next photo.

One more suggestion, you can lower the size of wallpaper when you save it as JPEG with photoshop without loosing quality.

Knowledge sharing: JPG is lossy format (there is some loss during the converting process) but human eyes can barely recognize it.

Not my favorite or best, but I changed the text up and added a different effect(+ 1 to Photoshop skill )

The Karkardan attacking China looks better than Fafnir one. Fafnir one seems too effect-heavy, which causes the main image to blur out. The Karkardan is like a comic and it's quite nice.

Thanks, I was going for cartoon effect. And I think the Fafnir is just the dust in the air when I took the picture, because I only used 1 effect. Plus, I wanted to make the Fafnir sort of seem as if they were in the background. But, maybe I took that 1 effect too far... I'm making a new signature now.

EDIT: Just made new signature, Photoshop is awesome
