As the goal is to eventually split Harad from Rhun, the Harad faction will need its own fortress which means it will also need expansions for the fortress. So if you have any ideas for what might make a good expansion to the Harad fortress feel freee to post them here. Please try and keep on track with this thread. Just for expansion ideas ;)

I think you guys already have the fortress expansions, and that you should think of Rhun expansions ;). Rhun was not a desert.

I'm not sure what you mean yams. We already have the Rhun fort we don't have a Harad fort or expansions for it. And why did you mention that Rhun is not a desert?

Well from my perspective Id rather like the expansions to be more free standing structures rather than attached directly to the main structure like all the other factions. for instance the arrow tower expansion could be just 4 wooden legs with a platform on top and the area where a person would stand is wrapped with cloth for walls.... gotta find a pic.....

Good thinking NJM ;) further showing the nomadic lifestyle, as the structures would be semi permanent constructions.

You got it all wrong... Rhûn Fortress is done! We need the nomadic desert Harad fortress now...

@NJM, that would make it look a little kit bashed... I'm going for a somewhat solid giant tent like structure, to differentiate from other mods that have kit bashed for sure ;)

Check this old topic for reference in design (for Harad structures (tents))...

Just wondering if have you seen the RC mod's MotE WiP fort ? ;)
It's pretty awesome, in my opinion, and I haven't seen anything like it used for Harad before.
Although I understand if you don't think it fits in with the general architecture of the faction, I do feel that a fort should really be a factions's stronghold, and I would not be all too confident under attack if I had taken shelter in a big tent ! :xcahik_: :xcahik_:

But on the topic of expansions, maybe you could have a quicksand pit - a very close ranged attack. Soldiers standing in it lose health slowly over time, and when all HP is gone, get sucked into the ground ! :p However you might need a new animation so it would realistic

Hehe it's good, but you're right... It doesn't fir the other Harad-structures that are tents. Indians had tents tough, and they lasted for several decades vs the white man (we suck... but that's another debate). The way I see it, this makes Harad very special, and we'll compensate that with awesome archery, big Mûmakil, traps and all kinds of means to counter attack... Harad will be a fast moving, stealthy faction, sort of an equalient to elves =)

Here are my ideas:

  • Palisade Hub (palisades like in GW's "A Shadow in the East"
  • Corsair Ballista
  • Hall
  • Scorpion Den
  • Javelin tower (instead of arrow tower)

that is all
