Game crashing randomly...

Hello,

I am SquallBK. I was active on these forums a few years ago but then I went inactive due to college and other things. I am back and I have begun coding BFME2: ROTWK again. I am a little dry on my coding skills but here is my problem:

I will be playing the game, and the game will crash randomly. The usual windows 7 window will come up saying 'Bfme2:Rotwk has crashed unexpectedly. Windows is trying to find a solution to the problem' or something of that sort. After I click cancel, however, this error appears:

I have made several personal modifications for my game, which include the following:

-Changing damage & health of all units & heroes

-Changing structural health

-Added Rohan & Gondor as factions, including their AI in almost every map in the game


I honestly believe that the issue here is when I added rohan & gondor as factions, including their AI. I believe this because those are my most recent mods to the game and that was the first time I had messed around with world builder and actually knew what I was doing (read a tutorial on the3rdage.net about adding AI for a new faction)

I was just wondering what all of you may think? If you all believe the issue is when I added Rohan and Gondor as factions, would you know what the potential source of the problem is?

edit- Just a little bit more information. One thing I have noticed is that the game doesn't crash when I am playing against or playing as Rohan....it usually crashes when I am playing against or playing as Gondor. I don't know if that information will help at all.

Does it ever crash if you play a different map which doesn't have the AI?

To be honest Gfire, I haven't tried that out yet. I will now and then I will let you know. :p

edit- I just played a skirmish game in the brown lands. I was Angmar playing against Gondor with no AI. The game did not crash while I was playing. I should note also that when the game has crashed, I have been playing war of the ring, not a skirmish, but I was obviously in an RTS battle when the crash occured, not an auto resolve battle.

Last thing I want to add is that the crash that did occur had occured in a WOTR RTS battle and it was not immediately going into the battle. I was playing as Angmar against Gondor. I had time enough to prepare my first wave, but when I sent that wave out for the attack, that is when the game crashed.

It's hard to know with these things sometimes, but at least you may be able to narrow it down to the AI work you've done.

While I'm not sure, I may have found the problem. In gondor's AI data in skirmishaidata.ini, I referenced a wallhub which didn't actually exist. I forgot that I had planned to create GondorWallHubSmall but I had never gotten around to it. I'll test this theory out and then let you know whether or not that was the problem.

edit- I tested out the game by repeating the exact place where I had crashed before. I built the same units and played as the same faction against the same faction (gondor). The game did not crash this time, but when I finished the WOTR scenario, and I tried to the merge the troops into the witch kings army, the game crashed. I think the reason for this is because I had raised the CP limit of hero armies in WOTR but the CP limit was still not high enough. I think I just need to raise it more and I will be all set. Thanks for all your help.
