Hey all. as the title says
i need help getting a internet match up and running

the link posted for XWISC on M.O's site is down.

I don't think you need that tool anymore. XWIS is the default server now.

ah i see, im just having trouble trying to connect to a internet game.
so if you guys could give me any information that could help it would mean a lot


also......
so sorry to bug you about this speeder,
in my other post i asked about how to get finalalert to read M.O maps...
well im having trouble trying to find the files you told me to look for and get it to read
could i possiable ask for some pointers on where / how to find them and what i'd need to do to get F.A2 to read them ?

Run the mod, minimize the game to tray, run a tool called 'XCC Mixer', File -> Find -> rulesmd.ini, go to the file in expandmdXX.mix (where XX is 97, 98 or 99), right click, extract to your RA2 directory, run Final Alert 2. You can optionally extract artmd.ini to get some of new graphics working in the editor.

managed to add the rulesmd and the artmd
seems to be missing some of the items ( mainly the M.O added ones )

for e.x
field medic, few more of the infantry,
gates for all sides, support pad (allied), AA gun, soviets terror mine, airfield, epsilon's radar dome.


ofc some would be missing as the game it self says near perfect yuris revenage XD.
hopefully all the bugs and twicks get sorted would will love to see M.O 100% complete
hell if all goes well i'll prob be able to upload some custom M.O maps for you guys (with promission ofc)

When you exit MO, the mixes are deleted. However if you copy them out during MO, exit MO and restore the mixes, you can have the assets in FA2.

When you exit MO, the mixes are deleted. However if you copy them out during MO, exit MO and restore the mixes, you can have the assets in FA2.


no idea if im doing something wrong or what but

i used the XCC mixer extracted both the rulesmd and the artmd .ini files
(with MO open), extracted them to both the RA2 folder and the FA2 folder,
closed MO and extracted them again to both files... still missing the items
if i hover over lets say a pillbox, with a selected lets say black eagle airpad or a gate NS
the pillbox disappers once i move the item away from the pillbox the pillbox reappers
does the same with other map places items as selected placement items

Huh, I don't know... I don't know FA2. I only know XCC.

Err.. I think that's normal behavior. When you hover with a building over a building that's already placed in the editor, the placed building will be covered by the one you "hold" with your cursor. But it's still there.

sorry for the long delay replying to this, i was out of town the past few days....
anywaysss... yeah it does get placed the "invisable item" but it does place, its only on the game its self you actually see the placed item,
and i guess this was a rare thing but looks like FA2 does not delete the placed items because when i used a chono legionare to make a placed tech oil derrick dissapper there was a allied power plant i placed there in the past ...lol...

so guess it looks like i'll have to take a risk placeing the invisable MO item and make sure i remember that there is actually something placed there....
which reminds me i gotta try look for a blackhawk airport that i placed in the water somewhere :xd: was playing my custom map that i've partly made and as orderd my aircraft carriers to a point in the water i was like O.o W...T...F at the airfield in the middle of the water i lol'ed
