Initial Start: Quenta Silmarillion mod for RotWK that replaces the old factions with 4 new
ones build almost from scratch. It is based in the 1st Age and will feature the factions of
Angband, Edain, Khazad, and Noldor.

The first beta will have Noldor and Angband about 65 - 75% complete lacking a couple of units
and probably a hero and an upgrade. If we went ahead and completed the it would be bad for
two reasons: 1. It would take long past the expected release time to shove out a comlete
faction, and 2. It would give us more time to work on the factions later on and we could
improve them better overall with out redoing part of the faction.

We are in general balancing the game:
the game less "magic spam" and more along the lines of realism and leadership.
But we will still have plenty of magic.
The spellbook will have less of a focus and will bemore supprt like in
bfme 1 not "kill an entire army and still have most of you powers left over to kill the player"
type deal as in bfme 1.
It will also rely on the use of units and not hero spam, and will
change the purpose of ranged seige equipment to a more "anti-unit" purpose for use in large
scale infantry battles

We also will have about 10 - 15 new maps from our mappers.
The mod will also feature a brand-new bfme 1 style campaign with its own Beleriand Living World
Map made by Fellbeast III.

We will have more to say (and show) in the coming weeks, and we can then show ou just what we've
been doing.

So excited about this mod. I'm surprised that you are having the Edian as there own faction. I thought Doriath as one and Noldor as the other with Edian as support would be be the way to go. But I am sure your creative genius has its reasons. Best of luck with this. Too bad all the past work done by others on the first age ended in ruin and there is know way to salvage some of there work to make a mod that is too awesome for words.

I thought so, too.

Way back in the day myself and ithillianranger brainstormed back and forth loads about the 1st age on the Wars of Arda forums. Since that mod is now dead I figure you guys can use anything you find useful in there. Here is a link http://www.warsofard...hp?showforum=11, at least I consent to letting you use any of my ideas (MasterSilver). Good luck, will check back in later. Cheers

I'm trying to put up pictures of my maps but apparently image extensions aren't allowed on this board.

If you're uploading to a imageshack or photobucket or something, try using the direct link in image tags, instead of whatever link they happen to give you.

I tend to use the Imageshack Uploader (download from the Tools heading on the imageshack site), which makes getting links for multiple images heaps easier.

Well i find that Photobucket quite often breaks or deletes it's links, so Imageshack seems to be more reliable for long-term stuff. Also, i'm not sure about photobucket, but Imageshack gives you the links to the thumbnail images too, so people don't have download and scroll through lots of large images ;)

The maps are looking pretty nice from what i can see. If you put those links in the tags, they should show up.

For the record, I don't think people want to see four screenshots of one new unit. Take your screenshots carefully. Hide the UI by pressing f9 (someone correct me if that's the wrong one) and get a nice zoomed in, almost "cinematic " picture. Looks more professional that way. (this is just some advice by the way. I'm not saying anything bad about the unit itself.)
