So I just got Skyrim for me shiny new PC. And I have to say... miles better compared to the 360 version, or a console version in general. The lack of glitches... the insane load times... the far superior graphics and frame-rate Oh... and modding. So yea... bye-bye console gaming. I'm enjoying this play through of Skyrim so much more since the controls are easier to get a grip on and since everything is just so much better. High Elf Battle-Mage for de' winz.

Oh, and since I brought it back up... DLC is coming soon. Dawnguard. So far they announced crossbows and snowelves will be in it. Foxy.

Wants to bloody hurry up. I need something to rekindle my interest in this game. Although I'd say to be honest the best answer would be for them to make Oblivion less broken.

Background process. Has something to do with some activity going on somewhere. Sorting junkmail, I think. No value or interest. Doesn't do much except hog resource.

There are so many fan-made improvement mods for Oblivion,,, I think my final days of Oblivion looked amazing and ran really well, and with all the expansions, it was like a good game or something. I still say the furniture mod and Grmwire's book mod put Skyrim's texture's to shame. But Bethesda is not all about HD collections / throw-back improvements, so I doubt anything official will save Oblivion from the dark pits of the Daedric horde where it will be forever criticized. And Dawnguard is coming this Summer, so we should have some content to fill our acidic sacs of anticipation here soon.

And Soul... you surprisingly don't need an handsom video card to run Skyrim. What the blazes is mine... can't be bothered to dig the box out of my shed. Some weird company that makes dirt cheep graphics cards that are massive. It's not top notch, being my point. I spent 150 on it. Stick with that price range and you can get ultra high graphics like Pasidon. And by the way... Skyrim is STILL full price. Not even a Steam sale. That upset me.

So I haven't said much about Skyrim for awhile, but I got a lot to say. This is a relook into Skyrim, basically.

Now, I have been playing Skyrim alot recently. I already beat the 360 version, so things start to repeat themselves and get old. But... I found a way to make the game indescribably a better experience: make it challenging. Right from the start, I put the difficulty at max and made a rule not to fast travel. I also got into things like realistic lighting and extra darkness, so light is really a powerful proponent now. Night time and caves now are impossible to explore without some light, and it's so much fun watching as dark, creepy things pop out of the light and attack. Doing a dragon fight at night in a snow storm is not only insanely hard now; it's so much more interesting.

Second... I've been playing Dawnguard. So you get to choose to side with powerful vampire lords or powerful vampire hunters, and each faction has different perks to make them more interesting. I joined the vampires since... well... being a vampire is more challenging than benefiting, and I'm all about upping the challenge. And let me just say about Dawnguard... it makes Skyrim feel like a whole new / better game. The scenery epicness is skyrocketed as you visit places like the secret Dawnguard valley fortress, the isolated vampire island castle, the confusing and endless realm known as The Sou Carn, and the lost reaches of the Falmer capitol. Also, crossbows are epic, vampire lord powers are super-duper fun, armored snow trolls suck and summoning undead horses from spirit realms is neat. I have to say, so far, my most memorable Dawnguard moment is fighting two dragons ontop of a glacier as they both pop in and out of the ice. It feels like a whole new game, and when you finish it, you realize that it was just a really long quest line and the entire rest of the game is still ahead. So worth 20 bucks...

Oh joy... new Skyrim stuff.  New DLC called 'Dragon Born' is out for 20 smacks (13.99 crackers).  Does it look worth buying?  Uhhh... oh.  It has Morrowind in it, so YES.  Double yes.  That should drag my interest back into Skyrim for quite some time.

Someone was telling me about this new expansion the other day. I thoroughly enjoyed Dawnguard (but I only have the Xbox 360 version) which got me back into playing this game fairly heavily for a few weeks or so.

Just looking here: http://elderscrolls....s_V:_Dragonborn

In addition, the add-on features a plethora of new quests...[blahblahblah]...and the ability to tame and ride Dragons.

OH SHEIIIT!

I'm downloading now.

I must be the only one with no interest in riding dragons, and 100000% interest in going back to Morrowind.

But yea, Dawnguard was superb.  Bethesda has been having a good run of DLC recently, so I'll keep investing.

I haven't beat the campaign yet on mine either, but the DLCs still work nicely into the game.  It actually makes the main quests more interesting...

Don't forget, Skyrim people/dragons, SAVE MERP. http://www.moddb.com...playing-project

The one reason I would have bought Skyrim and it happens to be the only good game set in Middle earth that we could have seen this year. :(

Tamriel is far more interesting than Middle-Earth.  And by the time that project is done, Elder Scrolls VI would have been released.

And we will also several court cases between Warner Bros and modders.

Middle-earth is larger.

Middle-Earth is larger.  Too large.  If you want a fantasied RPG on any continent, you want there to be lots of land to explore, but not to a catastrophically / sinfully large degree.  The Elder Scrolls franchise was created for the RPG aspect while Lord of the Rings does not play that part well at all.  Hint why I really can't wait for Elder Scrolls Online... now that's going to be as fun as spit.

Seriously you're on for TES Online???
That so-called-game is so cartoonish that makes me want to puke. Also, I hate MMOs. Unless they chagne that shitty MMO Combat system to a more likely to Skyrim - I HATE to press 1, 2 or 3 repetitively - I might take a look just for the story sake.

And yeah, MERP is cool, hopefully they will see the light of the day. It's a hell of a job.

Can't they just make a 'Oblivion is no longer broken' patch? I won't even wail on Skyrim being a rather bland and nondescript world anymore.

Seriously, it's actually a duller world, I find.
