Greetings to all who would listen, we apologize for the slight lack of the last few 'weekly updates', as unforeseeable events took place, hindering our progress. However, as you may have gathered from the title, we're back with lots of updates. Firstly, our head coder and programmer {IP} Apollo has completely revamped our website to make it far less cumbersome for updating and faster to load, and we plan to add a number of new features.

Now we move on to the newly unveiled maps, constructed by Bofur01:

Borders of Lorien

Deadman's Dike

Northern Mirkwood

And now on to new models and skins, created by myself:

Revamped (Monster) Lair

Dunedain Ballista

Posted Image

Goblin Scavenged Armours

Note that these skins will be randomly applied to Scavenged Armoured units, for realistic effect.

And lastly for the update, I have a new wallpaper for you guys, if you want to use it:

The entire team thanks you for reading and your continued support, though we've also to announce that two of our number have now officially left, Pas5evermark and {IP} Solstice, whom we will miss dearly, myself particularly, as they have been mapping for Quenta Silmarillion since its very inception.
This is a story that will stay with us. That means something, even if we're too small to understand why. But I think, dear members of Revora, we do understand. We know now. Folk in stories have had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something. What are we holding on to? That there’s some good in this world, fellow Revorians… and it’s worth modding for.

Ha ha ha ha, Barad-dur map prop eh? I guess I have another contender to the best Barad-dur map title! :flameblast: NJM (lost map) and I (SEE map) have already show that mapping Barad-dur isn't impossible.

I must say that the Goblin armour is great up close - eye-candy for a player who decides to ignore controlling the battle and actually zoom in to look at the units in battle. :thumbsupcool:

The monster lair is certainly a great idea, I think it needs some more detail - like bones, variety in texture, and possibly more fortification (scrap metal pieces would make it suit the other Goblin structures, if that is what you want).

Goblin armour is great up

Thanks Matt!

Bones, variety in texture, and possibly more fortification (scrap metal pieces would make it suit the other Goblin structures, if that is what you want)

Brilliant ideas there, I'll definitely use them, apart from the scrap metal, as with our new building reskins, you'll notice we've used desaturated blue/green tiles.

Mainly because, I don't see the Rangers using ballistas or siege engines at all. Though since this is Battle for Middle Earth, their faction needs a siege unit.

I was just wondering why you chose to do a ballista instead of say a trebuchet or a catapult. :whatoa:

Well, although I'm not really happy with the choice for a ballista, {IP}Apollo's reasoning was: ballista shoots a big arrow.

His logic's always been part of a plan higher than our understanding... supposedly. Anyway, as you say, Dunedain needed a new seige weapon, but since trebuchets are reserved for gondor and catapults aren't very Dunedically elegant, we went for a ballista.

I really couldn't see the dunedain using trebuchets or catapults. Unless you were to just use battering rams, I think a ballista would probably look best.

Haha.

@everyone else

Well Rangers favor the Bow and Arrow and the Ballista is basically a huge one of them on wheels. :p

Well they don't necessarily favor JUST the bow. Take Aragorn for example: In the books he only uses a sword. In the movie the only time he uses his bow is in Moria and to hunt the deer in the Midgewater marshes.

But that's just me being a Dúnadan freak again. :thumbsupxd:

Correction: Dúnedain Freak. Unless you're referring to the Sindarin, Man of the West, most commonly known as Bilbo's reference to Aragorn in FotR. :p

No I ment Dúnadan, which is the singular form of Dúnedain.
