Be careful not to make the infantry units more important than the cavalry. I only see one cavalry unit so far, but hopefully you'll be making more later.

Trust me the Rohirrim are a sight to behold :p. (In the campaign depending on the Territory you're in you get certain riders but) in the Skirmish you get Varied Riders so no Battalion is the same Spear and Bow, Now it has Spears, Axes, Swords,(varied) and Bows. And currently I have no new skins to "Recognize" the Rider from his Territory.

Still I think you could cut one or two infantry units and diversify the cavalry a bit more. I never liked the BFME2 Rohirrim toggle, maybe go back to having mounted archers and regular cavalry. Could have light, scout cavalry, fast with decent attack against buildings but a lack of trampling abilities, regular Rohirrim cavalry that get an ability at rank 2 (DEATH! DEATH!), and a limited number of mounted royal guard, maybe?

You shoud give the Royal Guards a mount ability, and exchange one of the two archer units for Rohirrim Archers.

Im gonna jump on the wagon with the rest of the gang, I hink there is too many infantry type units and not enough Cavalry.

Id suggest:

peasants - defense unit (slaved)

(Require "Draft" passive)

Militia swordsmen

Militia archers

Militia spearmen

Rohirrim Scout - single fast mounted unit for scouting

Rohirrim Swordsmen

Rohirrim Lancers

Rohirrim Archers

Royal Guardsmen - mount /dismount unit

What makes this interesting is the amount of different cavalry, all would be countered by pikes in some way. Since there is variety you can use that to have one type better for one counter and worse at another, IE:

Rohirrim archers > Pikes

Rohirrim lancer = pikes

pikes > Rohirrim swordsmen

I'd avoid the Mount/Dismount thing for a unit.

For my Royal Guards in LW I went with an elite version of the Rohirrim essentially equivalent with a FU Rohirrim horde.

As for cavalry units there's more types than just Light, Medium, Heavy and ranged you could have a cavalry of raiders with axes, or lances making them anticavalry cavalry, or jinetes which is a skirmish cavalry using Jarids as their main weapons you could even have a support cavalry unit since historically some riders used nets to disable enemies.

I must agree with all of the above ( or at least most of it ) but is the mod called "The Horse Lords" and Rohan is a sub-faction? Hmmm , or are you planning to change this ?

Hey guys, Sorry but I'm having an Internet Problem so I'll be responding slowly but I guess I can say some stuff now :
Like I said before this is for the BETA Release and since they are still under Men Of the West I wanted to keep them kind of low on units for now (It would give Men a Very Very Good Advantage).
This was the Intended Rohan Roster :
Infantry :
- Rohan Peasant Milita - Basic Infantry (Axes and Swords) - Can Repair Buildings - offer Basic Defense
- Edoras Spearmen - Medium Spearmen - Good For Holding Enemies in Place
- Militia Archers - Basic Archers -
- Helmingas Archers (Archers of the Hornburg) - Medium Archers - The Marksmen of Rohan
- Helmingas (Warriors of the Hornburg) - Heavy Infantry - Should be used to tackle with Medium infantry
- Westfold Militia - Medium Infantry - Requires Upgrade - Fast moving Infantry with Random Weapons
- The Royal Guards of Edoras - Heavy Infantry - limited to 6
Cavalry :
- The Royal Guards of Edoras Mounted - Heavy Calvary limited to 5 Heavy trample but slow down quickly - Good For Carving through a thick Horde
- Eomer's Éored - Medium Cavalry - Regular Rohirrim - (Swords,Spears, and Axes) ( best trample in game ) - All around good for everything
- Eomer's Éored Archers - Calvary Archers - Regular Rohirrim - ( best trample in game ) - As NJM said "Rohirrim archers > Pikes" Arrows do have a good effect on Uruks as well
- Snowbourn Scouts - Light Cavalry  Good Trample - (Swords and Axes) Best used for Seige Machines and Archers
- The Warg Slayers - Fast Cavalry with a Thick Iron Spearhead limited to 4 (Spears only ) And I think you'll could infer that they do a bonus to Wargs and some other Monsters.
- Westfold Cavalry - Specialized For Wiping Infantry - Requires Upgrade - (Swords,Lances, and Axes) Great Trample but most vunerable of the Cavalry to Pikemen.
Seige Machines :
- Rohan Battering Ram - OK it's a Battering Ram :/
- Rohan Catapult - This requires an Upgrade - Well they could have made some
And Buildings :
- Rohan Fortress
- Rohan Barracks
- Rohan Archery Range
- Rohan Forge
- Rohan Farm
- Rohan Town Buildings (I'll explain in an Update ASAP)
- Rohan MarketPlace
- Rohan Watchtower - Fortress
- Rohan Battle Tower
And since most of the Buildings of Rohan were mostly Wood they have a lower tolernace for Flame Attacks but that is why the Peasants are still in play ;)

Speaking of Which the Porcupine Formation no longer stays put but it does allow the same effect to Cavalry along with a small boost in armor and damage but a good penalty to speed.
The Rivendell Lancers will be changed to Rivendell Riders as I hope to pass the Lance/Bow Switcharo thing to them It would fit them better.
I've also been Practising In 3Ds Max Lately :D Gonna Have some Nice Dol Amroth Men-at-Arms and more for you soon.
I'll have an update on Some Gameplay Changes to Take Place After the BETA Release ASAP.
@ Bofur yep the Horse Archers can Fire While moving - Unlocked at Level 3 -
@ Mathijis Eomer's Division has at level 5 "Horse Masters" which grant them a temporary boost to Speed, Attack Speed, Trample Decelaration, and Armor.
@ Fredius I was considering that but i think it would be faster and less buggy to keep them seperated
@ NJM I like the suggestion but now with the full list you can see the full extent of the Wrath of the Horse Lords !! :p XD
@ Rad Jinetes do sound familiar, It would require some animation fiddling but I think it could work as a Monster Slayer (including Mumaks) I do know that Skirmisher troops were effective at slaying Elephants.
@ Val As Bofur said it's just for the BETA when Rohan is Fully Done it would be a single faction
Sorry If I missed anything Kinda Rushing XD !

This is just far too much stuff. Very over-saturated. I'll PM some stuff later on to see if I can maybe give some pointers.

Éored is a company of riders of the Rohirrim if I remember correctly, So I think all the Riders would fit under that XD.

Think he means Eomer's Eored, as opposed to Eomer's Rohirrim.

As usual, my reply is "What he said ^^"

Isn't it possible to cut it down to, say, this:

Infantry :

- Rohan Peasants - Farm
- Westfold Militia  -Barracks
- Archers of the Hornburg -Barracks
- The Royal Guards of Edoras  -Barracks

Cavalry :
- Snowbourn Scouts - Stable
- Westfold Cavalry - Stable
- Rohirrim Horsemen/Rohirrim Archer Combo?  -Stable

Seige Machines :
- Rohan Battering Ram

O Lol Changed it also everything on the List is also supposed to play some part in the Campaign, and some such as the Catapult, Westfold Cavalry, and Westfold Militia need an upgrade to be bought, So It's not like your getting all the troops right away. Then again some changes may be made into this list as THL goes on so it's not final.

Hello Rider of Rohan! First, I love your mod and the ideas you try to implement. :)

I have a suggestion for your Rohan roster:

-Eorling militia (at lvl 3 they gain an upgrade  and become Eorling Soldiers) (basic infantry)

-Rohan archers ( regular archers)

-Footmen of Westfold ( basic spearmen )

-Helmingas ( strong infantry with javelins and axes/shields )

-King's Guardsmen ( elite infantry with swords and shileds , limited to 3 batalions)

-Riders of the Mark ( basic cavalry)

-Rohirrim archers ( says all)

-Westfold Horsemen ( medium axemen cavalry, can hurl a javelin at their enemies)

-Rohirrim lancers ( heavy cavalry )

-Royal Guards of Edoras ( elite cavalry , limited to 5 batalions)

My advice is not to give Rohan too much archers since they aren't very specialized in that but rather give them the Helmingas who can both fight with throwing spears and axes for melee .

It's actually pretty good, but the Helmingas specialized themselves in archery to defend the Hornburg along with the Spear throwers and axes, So having them as archers wouldn't be too bad. Of course I could put Spear-Throwers as the Haradrim Lancers are Obsolete. But I do like the Eorlingas militia idea similar to the Horse Archers gaining the ability to Fire while moving at level 3. But I would think that Rohan would have a force of Archers besides Hunters to call upon.
