It could remain a minifortress with some new custom objects.

Needs a lot of work. But I sculpted the Gundabad spires.

I hate to be that guy, but I think this is one of those cases where the original design that was done before any Hobbit films were released works better.

Possible ideas (I've come up with a few of them):
- The movie Gundabad design is used for Carn Dum. If I recall Namo's notes on the subject Carn Dum could have something to do with iron. The War in the North has a similar design. I could look up alternative designs by WETA to create a unique Carn Dum main castle (not the outer walls that have already been edited by NJM) and improve the current Gundabad that was styled on The War in the North.
- Keep the movie design for the iron spires, but use Dwarven stuff for the gate. The movie design isn't Dwarven enough.
- Open up the entire section of the mountain to create a minifortress.

The hobbit design for gundabad is really vague. I don't mind it. My assumption is that these spires are something the orcs constructed over the Dwarven gates and entrances into the mountain. Error is the only instance where there is a grandiose gate and statues marking a Dwarven kingdom. Moria didn't have it at either gate. Centuries of orc occupation of gundabad... I doubt there's much left to identify as Dwarven.
To keep the snow theme all the rock needs to be red snowy to match the red of the spires.

I will be going for this:
- WETA's Gundabad for the main section
- The original design based on War in the North for the gate, which is uninspiring in WETA's design.
- Make it a mini-fortress, that means that more of the mountain will need to be opened up.
- The glacier will remain, but I will have to research glaciers and create a realistic one.
Does the movie location have red rock? I checked in the reference screenshots and it seems the is dark grey and the gravel is dark brown, although the entire scene may have been tinted dark red. I wonder if the map will need to be removed of it's snow?
Note that this isn't a pressing issue at the moment for me. I'm trying to finish Rivendell.
