I like to see evolution I'm sure I am not the only one...
Looking better and better the first map in this thread is overexposed causing a lack of shadows/depth.
Second one more darkness but very flat almost no obstructions making the gameplay abit dull.
The third one you make it all up again. I agrea on the water part...
Erotion by water molds the landscape as we know but yours lack the aftermath of the destructible power of this.

Well I wouldn't say it's an evolution, I make certain choices based upon what I think looks good and what is balanced in regards to that particular map not based on my skill therefore everything that may seem to have been done due to an inability is generally not the case.
Mittalmar I think it looks different in game but I'm willing to have a look but as for The cape of Andrast I can't go changing the terrain so drastically as it's so small it just wouldn't feel right.
In regards to calemebel I imagined the cliffs had been created thousands of years ago when the land had a much larger river flowing through it, over time it the river size would have reduced to a mere trickle but through this process all 'debris' as such would have been washed away.

I think the issue is that the river's banks don't really look deep enough. For the amount of time, it should have eroded downward a bit more, while as it is it almost looks like the water's just sitting there.

I think it looks fine. Rivers change over time, who's to say the small streams you can see aren't remnants of a bigger river that has either changed/been dammed since forming the gorge, or has heavy floods during winter/spring.
And i'd say it'll look darker/more realistic in game, when you see it with trees, shrubs, rocks, clouds, animals etc.
You could possibly name it Ringlo Vale or something too. Or Hills of Evendim or Weather Hills maybe, if you think it suits somewhere more North.

That would most definitely my more preferred option to changing the rivers. I'll check out a couple of those places see if I can get find a place that's relatively close to the map's look, thanks Haldir.

Thanks NJM, I like the idea of having a little dirt around the edges especially if it'll satisfy people over this whole river thing.

But where are the hatches you can't have a river without hatches?

I've updated the main post with another map whose name isn't set in concrete and I'm open for changes to it.

I must agree with MTL its very interesting strategically.... do you even know how to make a bad map fudge?
Where naming is concerned, I dont know that the 2 rivers fits with Harrowdale, but I find that Im a very strict with making sure obvious features apply to the name. I must learn to be more flexible. Plus I dont have another suggestion anyway.

The two rivers probably don't fit with Harrowdale but then that's probably because I never make a map based on any specific locations in middle earth, I just find a name and description afterwards and hope it's vaguely similar.
EDIT- Also just to add, I'm not sure as to how many maps warrants a map pack so I'm currently aiming for six but that could change (hopefully I'll have time for more).

Right I've updated the main post again with Khand, now I'm unsure of the reaction this one will get as it's the first desert like map that I've done therefore it's been a bit of a learning curve for me.
