Yeah, the proportions are somwwhat off from the Troll SKL, and I can't really think of any other model that would have an SKL that fits... Due to this, when the model moves there are some serious distorsions in the chest, neck and thighs mostly.

What is the name of that fat orc, from RotWK expansion? I'm curious to how that would rig to this model...

 

Wouldn't it be swell if there was a tool to edit bones to fit a certain model, instead of making a model fit certain bones ^^

I'm not sure... they were black orcs, can't remember if the model had another name.

 

The textures were something like blackorc_a and blackorc_b, so give those a try. I think the fat one was b.

Just found it... it was the regular MUOrcWarr_SKL, just a fatter model. Oh well, at least it's rigged. Guess we'll have to deal with the distortions for this one ^^

Why don't you just adjust the mesh to fit the skeleton? The proportions might be different from the film then, but the rig should look a lot better. Priorities? :p

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too  :whathuh: I tried it once, and he looked like an ape with looooong arms and weird proportions... But we might give it another try later on.

Well, i just wait for the adapted model (better proportions to the mountaintroll) and rigg it again. I will do my best. :thumbsuphappy: Maybe we could try the snow- or hilltroll Naz? Anyway: this model looks fabilous!

Hmmm yeah perhaps. But the model above is the mountain troll, it's the same as attack troll, but without armor in game. The cave troll is just smaller with minor differences to the head. Proportions are the same... But yeah, maybe the RotWK trolls would work better? Don't wanna bother the rigger too much though  :whathuh:

Just want to say thanks for taking the time to rig this for naz, and i really appreciate your willingness to try rigging it multiple times to yield the best possible results with his animations.

Yeah Ea is awesome to work with. Fast and motivated. All models he rig is meant for Edain as well =)

 

I spent all evening polishing Azog, which is now delivered to Ea. I will try and adjust the GG to better fit the troll proportions aven it it sacrifices accuracy. However, not sure it will help as the problems Ea described to be is rather linked to a skeleton that could use more bones. The placement of GG's head is a problem.... So maybe the Snow Troll would fit better even if the anims are not as cool. The Hill troll have even worse anims, but if it would play without so many distortions, it's still better I guess.

Yeah I'm gonna say that the snow troll might be the better choice as his head sits similarly on his body as the great goblin. But there will likely be other problems

The model is now rigged to the hilltroll-cah_skl and it looks like really great! It was hard to rigg, but it works. First of all i spend 20 minutes to examine the area of influence of the bones. At the beginning there were some problems with the vertices on the stomach, but i've tricked something :shiftee:

Only the Hip makes taunt and point-anims some problems, but the rest seems perfect to me.

No problem, no problem. Today i had a little bit freetime and promised Naz to get the best possible result!

OH those screens look really good! :w00t: Did you try the Snow Troll as well? 

 

EDIT: Oh the Hill Troll CaH.... I thought you meant the regular Hill Troll (kuhtroll_skl), which has lousy anims! This is a much better rig and almost as good anims as the cave toll! This is probably the best solution you could come up with! Looks a LOT better. Mostly legs/hips that distort now, but overall it's a huge improvement indeed! Feel free to post updates on your Edain sites if you want. It's your model too now  :thumbsuphappy: Just remember, his name is The Great Goblin, not orc ^^

That's right, you collected an awesome set of voices. This is gonna be soo cool! =) I can't wait to finish this faction's assets so I can start coding them all in ^^ (even though I hate coding, lol)
