in the gendev site at the download link to the particle editor I found this

"A useful particle system editor, found in the Nvidia Demo. Place file in your main Generals directory, and use with -particleEdit and -win commandlines to run."

What does it means? I think that I have to creat a link to the execute file and at the line "target" i have to add something...but what?

You can just copy the shortcut to Generals that is on your desktop, then right click on the shortcut, choose properties, and in the target you need to put in "-particleEdit" and "-win" (no quotes though) to use the particle editor.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Do you have the ParticleEdit.dll (or whatever it is) file in your Generals root directory?

Well, whatever your Generals game/root directory is. Default is C:\Command and Conquer Generals and make sure you correctly add -win and -particleEdit to your shortcuts command line.

I've seen this around here. I kow what particle affects are. Namely explosions and emps effects and stuff. But never understood the particle editor thing. How about a 3 paragraph description from somebody telling us newbs what it is, the function and stuff.

all I know for certain is that if you press go button, it will show you the effect, so just change the numbers around and press go to see what those numbers do.

But I do have some question...

Is there any way to increase the numbers of particle in an effect? Cause I want to make the nuclear explosion bigger, but whenever I increase the radius or the size, the effects get scattered and there are gaps between them as there aren't enough of them to cover larger areas...

http://gendev.origin...?file=camap_use This covers mapping the file, and the only thing left to do is put the TGA file in your C&C Generals Directory\Art\Textures, and the INI File you saved in your C&C Generals Directory\Data\ini\mappedimages\Texturesize_512 or something very similar.

Try just downloading the lite version. People have had success with that when the normal installer fails.
