I went to "programs and features" on my computer, and also deleted all files for the game. How do I access program files\EA games\ ? I put that into my "search programs and files" in the start menu but nothing came up.

BTW thanks for the quick replies!

It's the installation folder. You just navigate to it. Open the drive you've installed it on (probably C:), go to the Program Files folder, then in there go the EA GAMES folder and delete the BFME folder in there.

Ahh, I found it, and I deleted it. However, I tried running BFME online again, and it still shows the same message. This is really frustrating...any other advice you have?

Perhaps you could use a program to clean out the registry? I use CCleaner.

You're talking about forshire's Online Edition, right? I don't know much about that... I'll see if I can get someone to help.

My computer is a Windows 8 64 Bit. Yes I think I deleted the game manually that's why this is happening.

Have you ever removed the game from the Windows Installer Database by going to Control Panel -> Programs -> Uninstall a Program?

I don't think the game ever showed up in the programs list. Either that or I don't remember uninstalling it from there.

Either way, it doesn't show the program in that list anymore. So I guess, yes it got deleted from that list somehow. It's not listed as a program anymore.

Okay here is the fix....
Go to regedit
Goto the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\The Battle for Middle-earth
And delete it and reinstall.

Holy shit man. It worked! THANKS so much!!!

Your T3A:Online password contained a period (.) symbol. I've edited it out (T3A:Online passwords only support letters and numbers), please try the one that shows in your profile now.

Hi there,

Im new to this mod, i've installed patch 1.03 and copied over 1.05 then ran T3AOnlineBFME1_1.4.4, but, as many here the game won't run. game.dat crashes.

what i've tried:

compatibility mode in all different xp service packs (set for lotrbfme_.exe since its automatically set for the launcher)

reinstalling both the launcher and the game and deleting the registry entries etc

im running windows 8.1 64bit (latest build) nvidia gtx680 & i7 4770k, installed on ssd just in case.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

thanks

Launching the game directly (lotrbfme_.exe) works fine? Have you tried disabling the XP compatibility mode on lotrbfme.exe (you'll need to do it as admin)?

Hi all,

here's the solution i found on a microsoft forum, works like a charm:

Go to C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth Files

and create options.ini with the following text (change resolution to your own):

AllHealthBars = yes
AlternateMouseSetup = no
AmbientVolume = 50
AudioLOD = High
Brightness = 50
FixedStaticGameLOD = UltraHigh
FlashTutorial = 0
HasSeenLogoMovies = yes
HeatEffects = yes
IdealStaticGameLOD = Low
IsThreadedLoad = yes
MovieVolume = 70
MusicVolume = 70
Resolution = 1680 1050
SFXVolume = 70
ScrollFactor = 50
StaticGameLOD = UltraHigh
TimesInGame = 55
UnitDecals = yes
UseEAX3 = no
VoiceVolume = 70

before I used T3A online I had

C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Battle for Middle-earth ™\lotrbfme.exe" -xres 1176 -yres 664

set up to fix the issue with my screen resolution. After the install this has now reverted to what it was like before, anybody know of a way around this?

Thanks

You could add a line to your Options.ini (AppData\My Battle for Middle-earth Files). Make sure you save it, then set it to Read Only again (as it should be if you changed it to improve your online experience).
