Quite unrelated but why does pink always exist in C&C games? As if anybody would ever touch that color for once.

The subfactions don't really have official colors.

I think he meant those colors, which some subfactions use in campaign. Although Zenothist is right, because they don' really follow this "rule".

Even though they do not have official colour. Factions are most seen using these in campaign:
Russia - Red
Confederation - Orange
China - Brown
USA - Blue
Pacific Front - Light Blue
Euro Alliace - Darker Blue
This is not official, just my observations. Not sure about Euro Alliance though.

Euro Alliance seem to also be Light Blue as well as Green like Germany in vanilla RA2.

That's seem fun, I should have thought about that

Because of Yunru

So Yunru's hair color is actually her team color indicator?

There are no fixed colors for each faction in missions.
Player is always Red (Soviet), Blue (Allied), Purple (Epsilon).
The colors of the houses allied to the player / AI are also documented, so they are generally the same.

Yunru uses a custom Palette to make her pink hair possible.
Russia - Red
Confederation - Orange
China - Brown
Speeder says Epsilon just uses various shades of purple.
PsiCorps - Purple
Scorpion Cell - Purple
Headquarters - Purple
USA - Blue
European Union - Green
Pacific Front - Teal

Well, just adding on to RP's answer:
Campaign / Coops (most of the time)
Allied Player / Main Enemy: Blue
Soviet Player / Main Enemy: Red
Epsilon Player / Main Enemy: Purple
Allied AI: Teal, Green (may be Blue if Blue is not used)
Soviet AI: Orange, Brown (may be Red if Red is not used)
Epsilon AI: Pink, I-forgot-what (may be Purple if Purple is not used)
China (he's a bit special): Brown (may be Red if Red is not used)
We use these colorset because there are instances where there is more than one commander for a subfaction. Red Player with Red AI can be pretty confusing.
