Hello, I am not sure if many here remember me but I'm surprised that this community is still alive!

 

Are you still making maps/mods or have you moved over to other business?

 

For those of you who don't know, I used to be a member of Istari Productions back when I was a kid (I'm 20 now so still a kid I guess).

That's how I got started with modding which eventually led to programming, which I've been doing for a while now, mostly in C++ making games.

Currently I am working on a game engine in C++ built with an old version of Leadwerks, maybe I will start a blog or something for it soon!

 

 

However, the last 6 months my life has gotten turned upside down. It started when I decided to go to what we call folk high school in Norway,

which is basically a really relaxing school where you can study things like music, photography, sports, and much more.

I play guitar so I went to study music, and after being there for a month things got quite radical with me starting to experiment with psychedelic drugs.

Eventually I got kicked out of the school for smoking cannabis so I became quite depressed. And what's the best thing to do when it's the darkest time

of the year in Norway, you're depressed and lonely? That's right, you take more drugs!

So I ended up having the shittiest trip of my life with a friend, which basically felt like we both died.

After that, me and my friend decided to go backpacking through India.

We left in early February and had a blast until we came to Goa where we basically got kidnapped for 3 days and robbed. Beaten and threatened and sent on a plane back home.

So now I have no money but the bank say they will refund us soon.

After the India experience I had to go to a psychologist which I am still talking to.

Oh and I forgot to mention police had a razzia some days ago and I may be going to jail, but I'm not sure how that will turn out yet.

 

 

I thought it would be nice to just give a little update on my life, It's quite depressing but things can't really go any worse from here.

Just remember when things are bad, there are always people who has it worse!

 

Anyways I might stick around here a little, I am also considering starting up a small developer company. I can tell more about the game engine I'm working on later if anyone is interested!

Hey-ho Hammy.  Yea, I still remember you.  I even still remember the first time we met.  I got into one of your old maps and you called me an idiot for suggesting ideas.  I'm still dumb.  But yea, sort of annoying to hear people getting kicked out of school for participating in passive activities.  Even if they're illegal.  Boo to the man... stick a pineapple up his banana hole.

 

But yea, good to see you here.  Stick around and join the conversations.  Splat also recently came back to us, so a small number of IP is still kicking.  I dunno what they're kicking, but it's something to join in on.  Revora is now the Battle for Middle-Earth hub of the world, so you can even get back into it.  And make a topic about your engine.  I'm flabergastingly interested in knowing.

Sure, a development blog would be cool, I'm currently just waiting to reformat and reorganize my computer and moving the project to Github.

However, I thought the EA bastards had shut down the master servers, wouldn't that be problematic?
