I've been looking trough the maps you have, and have found that some RA2/YR maps have gone missing. I can understand that some are missing due to being unbalanced and/or being a remake/demake of a RA2 mission. An example would be "DC Uprising" due to a player being only accessible by 2 bridges, and obviously a remake of a RA2 Allied mission. Others, for which I'm unable to find a possible reason, are also gone. A map I always liked from YR was the 8 player map "Powder Keg". A large island city map, which offers pretty much every possible tactic, be it naval, urban warfare, or just tank spam.

Any reason for their removal? Or where they really that unbalanced for MO standards (which would surprise me seeing as some maps imho less balanced then "Powder Keg" did remain).

Some maps were simply broken. Not only balance-wise, but had terrain issues. Don't know if Powder Keg was one of them, but you can find that for example Wild Animal Park is no longer there (did you know infantry could walk on water in some spots there? :p ). Actually, it is still there, but reconverted and posing as a different map. :p

I am familiar with vRA2 map bugs, as I've been fixing some of them (same for TS) :p I did see some maps have been remade in a different theme (as Wild Animal Park is now Wild Nile River afaik). A related question: how far is the MO map editor? If that is available, fans could remake/fix those old maps themselves.

Ask RP, only he knows. :p
Btw, Final Omega doesn't allow people to read mixes for existing maps.

But we can still extract vRA2 maps and add (and possible edit) those to MO :p I know all MO mixes are locked currently (either due to copyright or due to still being in development).

Hi there,

I think the map editor will be released along with the next patch.

There won't be much of support there, but a few updates could be done. Reason for the late release and probable little support is that I'm working on my own project, which involves an entire new editor.

Doesn't matter, take your time. I'm not that much of a mapper anyway, I just wondered where some of the maps are and if they might return in one way or another :)
