No I haven’t misunderstand anything Banshee. T3A people have clearly used Thorongils material, and are claiming it for themselves. We are not blind here! “There was a serious communication problems between the people here and Thorongil,” well yes of course there were communication problems. Thorongil works, and is a busy guy. He has other priorities and duties; he cannot just put his time in the patch. Why do you think it was taking a while to be released? Thorongil wanted to make sure that patch 1.06 was completed 100% before releasing it.

“The patch 1.05 had a major flaw (movement bug) that was dividing the community and, instead of fixing this flaw, Thorongil decided to create a major patch that was actually looking like a mod. The timing for creating a major patch was clearly wrong and as far as I've seen the internal discussions with Thorongil here, he had no intentions to change his decisions, nor listen to what others were saying (and many people requested a movement bug fix patch before making a larger step).” We all know that 1.05 has that bug. Thorongil was very aware of it. But we are all human, we all make mistakes. Nothing is perfect. Thorongil had every attention to fix that bug. That was one of the first things he was going to make sure to fix, and he did fix it! He was never making 1.06 into a mod. What complete nonsense you are saying. I tested out 1.06 several times with him, and it was it no way a mod. Those allegations of yours are false. Thorongil always listened from everyone. He always took feedback. But basically everything that Thorongil did, you people at T3A always had something to complain about. You are the ones that had trouble communicating with him due to your own egos.

MattTheLegoMan “I agree that Thorongil should be credited for starting the non-official patches 1.04 and 1.05. (I must have overlooked it when I was looking through the discussions regarding the build up of 1.06, I'm sorry.)” Patch 1.04, 1.05, and 1.06 and whatever else comes out in the future, are all “non-official patches.” 1.03 was the last official patch, due to being made by EA Games.

Hello, yes, this is technically an unofficial patch in terms of EALA. Developed by fans is what unofficial means. However, it is official for T3A:Online. So from here it is called 1.06. =D

Also, Zeus, we defended 1.05 for Thor when it was the patch to use. I like Thor, and his work is fantastic, I still have stacks of respect for 1.05. I wonder why he did not want to cooperate with everyone else for 1.06, for the sake of the community? =(

I will be sharing the announcement with other online forums. I know of many people who want to play BfME again. =D

@ZeusTheAlmighty:

- Have you downloaded the 1.06 patch and confirmed that there is Thor work there? I've downloaded and it and compared with 1.05. I couldn't find traces of Thor stuff there. The staff here has claimed that they did not use Thor's files at the .big file that comes with 1.06 patch. 1.05 is mostly needed because of no-CD.

- Regarding the communications, you did not pay attention to what I've said. There is no problem is Thor is busy or not. The problem is that he wanted a huge patch to fix many things at once instead of quickly fixing the movement bug before doing something more ambitious. There was no negotiation over that, despite the desperate attempts from the T3A staff.

- Of course we are humans and we make mistakes. But you cannot expect competitive players to be happily playing a patch for years with a bug of the magnitude of that movement bug. That's the whole point of this thing.

Please, everyone. Thorongil, you have done great things for the Bfme community by giving support, becoming involved and keeping the whole thing going for such a long time. I really really give you any credit and respect for that. You invested much personal time (others as well) and that deserves thanks!

This patch is definitely inspired by the need for a new patch and this also goes as Thors inspiration.

I want the community to work together as a team, which is able to find compromises and to develop new cool stuff - I mean that's why we all are here. Everyone is more than welcome to be a part of this team.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

You very misinformed, friend.

As has been said before, the only similarity between our patch (T3A:Patch 1.06) and Thor's 1.06 patch is that ours fixes a few of the same known bugs. These bugs were fixed, from scratch, by our coders. The rest of our changelog is completely different (and much, much shorter) from Thor's. You are accusing us of something that, if you took the time to actually investigate, you would know is untrue.

I have a ton of PMs and private forum posts that prove Thor did *not* listen to our feedback and ignored us while expecting our server's support for his work. This was supposed to be a two-way street, but we were refused time and again. As such, we had no choice but to create our own patch.

Ok...I see things went turbulent and accusations came out - accusations so wrong it even made me login from my peacefull fishing weekend.
First of all thx to revora guys for finally fixing the bug and making a patch for both competitive and regular players so we hopefully wont need to keep switching them (but probably it wong be used in incomming 100$tournament as it is fresh and is not settled down yet).
Now to the accusations - Thor is not the creator of 1.06 patch and changelogs doesnt share enough similarities to call it "ripoff".
To all that defend Thor using the argument he wanted to make the patch "complete" before releasing it - THANK GOD HE DIDNT MAKE IT COMPLETE AND RELEASED IT !
All we wanted was fixing the damn bug and making almost no gameplay changes and only some graphic changes and possibly as soon as possible so this 1.05 bullsh*t is behind us.
About noncrediting Thor - if revora guys make the changes by themself (and im quite sure they are capable to do this) there is no need to credit Thor, important to.mention that Thor basically stole half of the gameplay change suggestions from 5 year old thread on gamereplays and didnt bother to mention this either.

Good News !

I had a dream of a 1.06 like this, with no balances changes, improving graphics and adding new maps, you did it !

Good Job and thanks for it !

Hahahaha I'm glad T3A decided to make their own patch. From my earlier point of view, I thought that the makers of T3A:online were just following Thorongils ass all the time and always depended on his patches, but I'm really glad that you guys proved me wrong, well done!

And to Thorongils testers, you have no idea how many times we asked for more coöperation with him, he mostly doesn't even answer our questions or suggestions without asking him multiple times to answer them. Also, you claim that he is a very busy man and blabla, well let me tell you then that he shouldn't be making a patch at all in that case. Players here were divided with patch 1.04 and 1.05, we don't want that anymore. Did you know that when a mod has a huge bug that has been adressed multiple times, that the mod makes a hotfix AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Well, 6 months later and we still don't see any sign of a hotfix patch.

Btw am I the only one that sees these "testers" here for the first time in the forums? I could be wrong in that, but it already shows how much you lack in coöperation. This is a project done by a team, which consists of T3A members and Thorongil and his bootlickers Imean testers. You did everything on your own, and that is not what teamwork means. Imo Thor should only be credited for patch 1.04 and 1.05, 1.06 is only and ONLY made by T3A members. Again I'm very proud of T3A.

Precisely... and both of them fail to prove their accusations...

Hello sueffkopp, due to new features that need english descriptions we currently have english only. However, we offer additional language support, see http://forums.revora...nguage-support/

Ouch. Splitting 1..06 development team into 2 teams is not nice to hear. I was wondering why this new patch didnt change as much as mentioned before, then i saw the misery.

I hope u guys will get together soon again.
