What's the status of Scorpion Cell's position within Epsilon? Where do their loyalties lie? Rashidi was never mind controlled and is willingly helping Yuri, but that's really all that is known. Was the rest of Scorpion Cell brainwashed to follow Yuri, and Rashidi is nothing more than a free leader over a Yuri-enslaved army, or is it something different? Is Scorpion Cell free from Yuri's mind control, and just using Epsilon equipment while fighting under their banner? Basically, where do their loyalties lie? If Rashidi was to defect, would Scorpion Cell follow or have they been brainwashed into serving Yuri?

There is no brainwash on the Scorpion Cell. Rashidi is a terrorist and Yuri contacted him. They help each other wherever they can. Some missions and coops have to do with Scorpion Cell, like Scrapyard and Retaliation, where the Scorpion Cell forces want the Americans to leave their territories. Furthermore Rashidi created the Epsilon MCV, the Driller APC etc. which Yuri can use. Their goals are similar so they allied and cooperate with each other. Everything else will be revealed in Act 2.

It will be interesting to think what could happen when Scorpion Cell and PsiCorps/Headquarters no longer share a common goal.

So it's really just a business venture with mutual benefits. Rashidi gives Yuri blueprints and technologies, and in return Yuri gives Rashidi equipment, funds, and an opportunity. I have to wonder though the level of cooperation. Pre-Epsilon Scorpion Cell seemed rather small and rag-tag. I wonder if Yuri gave Rashidi the agents and machines to mind control people to be loyal to himself, or if he just has a lot of supporters willing to join him if given the chance. Is there any subordination, or are they just partners? For example, did Yuri just leave Rashidi with Scorpion Cell equipped with Epsilon tech and left Rashidi to do whatever he wants with his army as Yuri pursues his own agenda with PsiCorps, or if PsiCorps and Scorpion Cell actually coordinate, and Rashidi accepts orders from Yuri. Kind of like Russia and the Confederation (close allies that coordinate their armies together) vs. Russia and China (allies that are on the same side, but for the most part don't interact). I guess it will be answered in ACT II, but I'm still curious. I always thought of SC as more or less just a division of Yuri's grand army, but they seem to be more of a faction in their own right with PsiCorps and HQ being Yuri's faction.

If I remember correctly, Malver's portable chimaera core has a "failsafe" in case he turns against the Epsilon. I also remembering that somewhere it is stated that Malver is loyal to Rashidi and only to him. I guess this stands for the whole Scorpion Cell. I think in act 2, if Yuri's final goal is "mind cuntruhl da world" (which would be such a cliché, Speeder, pls don't do that), the Scorpion Cell would most certainly turn against Yuri, and perhaps they would even sabotage the Mental Omega device.
