Getting FA2YR to read MO 3.0 data

Where to I have to edit in FinalAlert2YR.exe so it reads the *mo.mix files?

I've tried editing the 001ced50-001ced7f section so *md -> *mo, but I just get a ddraw initialize fail error and the FA2 logs are not very useful as a reference as it only outputs when the programme successfully loads, so I can't see where it's going wrong.

FA2 won't read the MO mix files. At least not the ones MO was published with - there're internally distributed variants of those mixes between the core mappers for mapping. Which won't be released at all. End of story.

So I have to manually hand edit a map after the fact just to insert MO 3 objects?

Aye, there is currently, and probably will not ever be a FA2 version that reads Mental Omega stuff for public usage.

 

At some point in the future, within the next year probably, there'll be a completely new map editor that does read Mental Omega files.
