Isn't Mental Omega Act 1 and vanilla Red Alert 2 suppose to be parallel to each other in the timeline. 
If that's not the case, then what events causes Act 1 to take place in 1982 rather than 10 years earlier like in vanilla Red Alert 2 which took place in 1972?

Mental Omega has its own history. It may have taken elements from the story of Red Alert 2, but I wouldn't really say that it is a parralel to it.

You really want Mental Omega to occur during the 80s instead of the 90s?
