RotWK and BFME II Errors

I've just made a FRESH install of both BFME II & RotWK but I just cannot get past these startup error.


For BFME II (which I have to run as administrator) with 1.06 installed and the Options.ini all sorted out I get an error on startup that reads:

Unknown field 'ShadowLOD' in block 'StaticGameLOD'.

Error parsing field 'ShadowLOD' in block StaticGameLOD' in file 'Data\INI\GameLOD.ini', line 20.


Edit: Never mind regarding RotWK, after I did a fresh install of BFME II it worked when running as admin. Still no luck with BFME II though.

How to disable upgrade visuals

Does anyone know and wouldn't mind telling me how to disable the shiny weapons and golden armour of units when they are upgraded? Golden Goblins and Uruk-Hai don't look right (nor do any other units slathered in gold).


I could have sworn I made a post about this in the past, but I can't find it and can't remember what had to be done. 

BFME II campaigns in RotWK

Is there a mod that "ports", so to speak, the BFME II campaigns into RotWK so that players take advantage of new units etc? Forgive my ignorance if this isn't feasible and is a silly question.

Unlocking Arnor

I'd like to unlock Arnor as a playable faction, but I'm not exactly sure how to do it. I've read that you need to edit the ini.big file under playertemplate.ini and change the playable parameter to "yes". I did this but can't find Arnor listed anywhere to actually use the faction. 


I also have unofficial patch 2.02 if that pertains to what I'm trying to do. By the way, I'm aware that it is a skeleton faction and all that.

Edit: Answered and solved on the patch 2.02 forum.  I copied the ini.big, changed the parameter as above, and put an extra # in the name so it loads above patch 2.02. Now there are eight factions! Also, 2.02 has clearly fixed a lot of issues with Arnor behind the scenes because they don't suffer from a lot of the problems I've heard about. 

Disabling armour & weapon upgrade visuals.

I'm really not a fan of having Goblins, Orcs, and Uruks in shiny golden armour with glowing weapons. Is there a way I can disable the visuals of upgrades? Maybe something in the ini.big that disables them like 'house colours'?
