It's probably too late now considering the game is huge now, but probably the best way to keep SP and MP separate would be to make a copy of every unit and building with a specific tag (like MP) so changing the MP stats wouldn't affect the missions. But this would be probably insane amounts of work.

I think that's a truly horrible idea. I mean no offense. Doing that, and then having different rules for SP and MP would literally make them separate games. It would violate the very integrity of the mod. It would also further divide the player base, SP players would become even more SP dedicated and MP players would play even less SP, and the divide would cause even more confusion in feedback & suggestions. I also fear that it would end in a feedback loop, as being completely unbound by SP would allow even more radical changes, and the sentiment would go from "because we must" to " because we can".

IMHO commandos having radically different stats in some missions is bad enough.

The community is already divided when it comes to SP and MP.
Besides most of the complaints regarding MP balance appear to stem directly from SP as MO itself is, first and foremost, designed primarily around the campaign.

At least that's the way I see things and why our lord and savior doesnt like taking risks

TL;DR : I truly care about the game's well being so much I dont even bother interacting with the multiplayer community beyond watching supposed professionals.
Oh and I'll badmouth this guy because we've been at odds, totally not because of me btw dont worry guys, because clearly he has no idea what he's doing lmao. I mean come on it's not like he actually plays amirite fellas.

Oh and to those others than him who disagreed with me, you're kids and as such are irrelevant

The fact an individual such as him is still part of the testers team for this mod is quite honestly worrying and to an extent only serves to solidify the negative point of view some people have had regarding the balance of the mod.

All in all, Petya has once more made an impressive public display. Kudos to him

Riot troopers are a must have in the case you're facing someone that relies heavily on infantry spam.

While USA does have plenty of anti infantry options, they are more often than not single target and will struggle a fair bit against massed blobs of infantry.

The riot trooper on the other hand has amazing damage against infantry in addition to powerful splash damage, you can basically kite around a large blob of infantry with just a few riot troopers and take it out mighty fine.

You may be wondering "But what about the Battle Tortoises?"
Exactly. There are No Battle Tortoises whatsoever. PF players no longer need them for close range combat because there is no reason for them to fight at close range.

I played (and streamed) a 3v3 game yesterday, where 2 PF players were on the same team, and I did not see a single BattleTort. I saw thousands of Blizzards and Zephyrs, countless Hailstorms, Suppressors, Hummingbirds and occasionally Barracudas. With a team composition of Epsilon HQ, Haihead & Latin Confederation, who you can argue are all reasonably strong factions, there was no way whatsoever to counter this (except blasticade it turns out, but thats a meme for another time). It was physically impossible to impose any sort of map control on that and when inevitably sieged in our own bases, hailstorms rendered any defenses a waste of money. It just felt like an unwinnable scenario from minute one.

Skip to 32:50. 4 Battle Tortoises (with Supressors inside) + backwarp wrecked 10 Abramses + Tanya. Actually, making Supressors taking one slot in transports made all recent PF nerfs useless now.

 

 

This is kind of my point though.

If Battletorts were still that potent, why are PF still stomping even without them?

 

Because Zephyrs and Blizzards can accomplish much more than tortoises.
If anything the real issue with both zephyrs and blizzards is their spammability, you can pump out so many of them at a low cost while BTs are much more expensive and considerably riskier to use as of right now.

IMO what should be considered is a significant price increase on both units or a reduction of the slow effect blizzards apply to vehicles as it is the main reason why kiting with zephyrs is so easy to accomplish. Perhaps the fire on the move ability should be looked at as well.

 

Unfortunately I doubt we'll get anything out of this so you might as well sit tight for another 7 months of pain and suffering.

The fact Suppressors arent removed yet is disturbing.

On a more serious note though, some of these changes have been long overdue and boy does it make me happy to see them.
Right now though, I'm surprised USA hasn't gotten any nerfs. Namely those, and I quote "[Redacted] Pieces of [Redacted] are speedy as [Redacted] and are a pain in the [Redacted] ass."
Not to mention all you really have to do as USA in most matchups is queue 50 Abrams and micro them (obviously Coronia and PsiCorps will force the USA player to take a different approach).
I also find it rather unnecessary to slightly buff the riot trooper, but whatever I guess.
