Went through and replayed all the challenges again at hard difficulty with AI partner. Really love all the changes and QoL adjustments! Here are some of my takes:
Judgement is an awesome, unique addition. I do wish it was more clear the stones are automatically acquired by the AI instead of captured via engineers like the player has to do, but the effects of each stone make me want to replay the mission just to see what happens. The comet storm effect in particular was quite a surprise, as well as the sudden rush at the end to beat the "enrage" effect. Great map!
Gladiator is a fun addition, the weapon disabling effect makes for some fun Oh shit moments - like your Kirovs no longer functioning.
Heroslayer adding the Blackout Research Center was a nice touch and gives the map just that much more flavor to it.
Endurance challenge is gorgeous now and much, much more memorable as a result. Awesome work on the terrain there!
Deception challenge still isn't much fun to play and really is a drag at the end. If one challenge needs a rework, imo it's this one. Fighting invisible enemies is fine and forces you to play differently and I appreciate that aspect, however, destroying the base at the end is just not that interesting. Borillo spam is the absolute best way to deal with it and I feel forced into this strategy each time I play the map. Knocking the enemy's power down to deactivate the cloak would be awesome, or having a building the player needs to destroy to dismiss it would be great. Perhaps have the Epsilon Command Center as such a building? I'd love to see Earthrise's weird tech in Deception challenge as well. The Titan Brutes, the Commando, Infested Humans, the modified Gehenna Platforms would all go a long way into giving the map that much more flavor.
Revolution Challenge adding the old soviet tech units everywhere is a real fun change and makes for one of the more memorable challenges. Definitely one I've played through a lot!
Ascension Challenge's super Irkallas are rad as hell with their brute-beams. Same with Ironwall Challenge's Black Centurion Siege Crawler. Little changes to units go a long way! In Ironwall I appreciate that you're given access to most tech structures near your base - and you sure need them, too.
Timerkiller teleporting explosive barrels was unique and definitely caught me off guard. I'd love to see SteinsTech Spectral Towers in this map, or perhaps Super Thor Gunships patrolling as well. The map still feels pretty vanilla compared to other ones.
Gladiator is a fun addition, the weapon disabling effect makes for some fun Oh shit moments - like your Kirovs no longer functioning.
Aberration messing with your tech levels was awesome, and a creative twist for sure. Fun map, especially with how it feels you're surrounded by the enemy. The Lionheart Strikes were cool to see!
Options-wise, please re-allow Crates to appear on Hard difficulty. They're plain fun and players rarely get to use them normally. They don't impact the difficulty of the maps in a significant way, and certain crates like the radar one lets me better appreciate the gorgeous work the terrainers did. Spamming spies is way more broken than an extra paladin tank or credits ever will be.
