Please welcome Dunedain in his new role as Deputy Admin.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

Hey guys, thanks for all your work! Do we have any chance to see the old quick match ladder at some point of time? Or at least automatic game reports? :)

The problem with the automatic game reports is for BFME1 that we don't know whether it ever worked for custom games, or only in connection with QM.

The manual reporting is not the best, but it's a practical workaround for now. Join our Discord and let me know when you want some QM games ;).

Actually it only used the QM in the past as far as I know. Why should QM games be ranked anyway? I'd prefer to see a QM-only based ladder as it used to be. Like this it is in almost every bigger game. Part of the reason is that it's more easy to fake game outcomes by e.g. asking someone to join your game and make him leave / throw the game to level up. If you get random opponents this is much harder to achieve.

Also I read the the WINNER need to upload the replay. Why does it matter who uploads the Replay? Like this the ladder will be biased, since good players will always upload there replay while casuals won't do it.

No it doesn't matter who uploads, but the winner does have some interest of it being reported, whereas the loser might not.

Well, if you upgrade the current QM ladder system to have random opponents you are pretty close to the previous state, no?

Oh, thanks for clarification. Then I just got it wrong.

Yes most likely. But what I meant is using the actual game clients native interface to search for a QM and passing you a random opponent. Also having the client or launcher reporting the game automatically afterwards.

Also it would make sense to reset the ladder once it works and also advertise in the commute the QM is ranked while Custom matches are not. They may therefore be used to try out strategies etc without losing too many games, for funmaps etc.

Greetings,

What Chatroom does everyone use when in the BFME 1 server? I see the game and website say X number of people are in game but no active chats? Any good suggestions to get a hold of players on the server? Thanks
