Maybe, maybe not. Speeder did say it will be easier to get the Apocalypse than before. So maybe it will remain a soviet x soviet stolen tech.

As for the ICBMs: There's a 2 year gap between Act 1 and 2. And there was an image of the first chronological mission that showed that Russia built more ICBMs during that time.

Confusion ray sounds like it was taken out of a 50's b movie.

Considering when red alert happens, this 50's feel of "confusion ray" is pretty much reasonable :-) Hell, Epsilon have flying saucers :-)

On the topic of mind control - that's actually reasonable. Mastodon is more complicated or something and has to be piloted by person, Teratorn is simpler and therefore simple AI will do. That's also a balancing factor. So an adept yoinked a Mastodon - send some drones to take him out.

Can't wait to see Foehn MBT :-)

@Protozoan... The Confusion Ray Logic IS the Old Chaos Drone Logic. If the name is any indication and to the whole reason why Epsilon is going for more offense related reworks.

It's just weird when the MO plot tries to be serious and more grim, and the devs put effort into every small detail to make things more realistic, but then the confusion ray just doesn't, it just don't m8, I know it's like the chaos tech but the name is.. eh. Minor nitpick

Nanotechnology man. It's science's magic. You can explain everything with it. Nanofiber Loom -> Nanotechnology.

Also, that giant-ass cannon from the trailer is called "Plasmerizer". Confusion ray got nothing on that name. :p

Perhaps "Disillusion Directive" sounds fancier muahaha

I think confusion ray is fine, it's very straightforward and gives you a good idea then and there on what the weapon does.

You have a point there. Confusion ray is easy to get. And sounds nice. On the topic of names - Nanofiber Loom sounds awesome!

As long as all units looks intimidating like the Mastodon and not toyish like RA3 units, it's fine by me.

Everyone! Grab your weirding modules! (See Dune universe).

EDIT: Bouns points if 'Speeder' turns out to be a killing word. :p

Wierding modules + Speeder as trigger word? That's an instant black hole there, overkill :-)

Why do i believe that the sweeper will be like the cleaver drone in TI?It can go to stealth by deploying,it is effective at both infantry and armor (althought it doesnt explode on armor) but uses rockets instead of blades.

Hm... "Boidmachine".... Based on the unit's cameo, I assume that this will be a T2/T3 'heavy' artillery unit. Though, it might also be the confusion beam that's been mentioned frequently in the recent days.

Also, if Foehn will have surface ships, can they be visually based on Zumwalt-class destroyers or Independence-class littoral combar vessels? Those ships look 'sufficiently-futuristic' to fit right in with minimal changes to their appearances

A "boid" is an artificial intelligence similar to bird flocks or bees.

So the unit might be a deadly bee weapon.

Bees. My god...

Technically, nanomachines operate in flocks to generate a change of the required scale.

Alternatively, imagine firing 300 bullets, each bullet being able to communicate with others and redirect their paths slightly in response...
