cant see the Apocalypse tank in Russian army

To be honest, i see a significant problem here.

I didnt play this game for ten year (yet i still Play cnc1 tiberian dawn for almost 20 years now lol) - i just got that cnc collection and started playing. Then i remembered RA 2 as a great game - imo best cnc Game after cnc1 - and started playing it als well. First thing i did was taking the soviets and steamrolled the enemy with Apokalypse tanks. Fuck, that was awesome.

After some games i thought that the game could be much better with some adjustments. Went to moddb - checked all mods - and mentalomega seems to be the real Deal.

Downloaded it, started playing - chose the soviets and wanted to try the new Units - that was not really possible because the KI rushed me quickly. Okay i got stomped and tried to make it better next time - i wanted to bulit some awesome Apokalypse and steamroll them. However, there was no Apokalypse. Not even for russia, which i especially chose to built them. I was like "what the hell is that, its RA2 and these modders removed the most awesome RA invention ever". So i rage-uninstalled the Mod.

After some vanilla RA2 i went LUCKILY to the homepage of your Mod. What i saw there is the following thing: Apokalypse Tank. What the hell, reinstalled the mod because there seemingly is the possibility to build an Apokalypse.

But then again how unlikely is it to get such a tank (the fucking most relevant, significant and awesome Tank of any RA). Invading TWO buildings - that is still OK but here comes the bad thing - the Enemy has to be Soviet!! This is far to specific and unlikely, with 3 or in the future even 4 factions in the game. Apart from that it doesnt make sense to capture your own technology and get a reward therefore.


After playing some games (and about 5 more well rated mods on moddb) i am sure that this is the best Mod out there. But two really frustrating things whichs really bother me with this mod. I created an account only to tell you them, because that mod can be really awesome otherwise, and would be even much better with then (usually i never do such things because i am lazy and dont have time):

1) this mod is not beginner friendly (or in my case: not cnc-grandpa friendly). Mainly because the AI rushes you apart before you can try the actually new content. How do you what to recrut new players for the mod with such an huge issue? Not everybody is a pro gamer and many want to try new content of the mods first before they want to play competitive.

2) The most awesome and iconic RA Tank - Apokalypse - doesnt seem to be available in the mod. New players will never find out how to get one without checking the homepage, which is really unlikely. Some ppl just gonna rage-uninstall, just like i did.
Solution: give at least russia the classic Apokalypse Tank from RA2 besides the Tesla Tank or make it easier to get the one you implemented for all subfactions.

My guess is that since the stolen tech infantry are phased out in favor of the 16 stolen tech units, the old stolen tech units will be part of those 16, which means that their requirements will be similar to the stolen infantries (as in, they will need one less building spied).

Some of the infantry will be incorporated into the normal tech tree. Some will be subfaction exclusives.

Some of the infantry will be made campaign only.

Some could be move elsewhere. Perhaps as Secret Lab boons?

Unfortunately, there may be some that will disappear from the tech tree altogether.

I strongly agree with the first claim that the easy AI is actually Brutal AI from vanilla RA2 and YR masked sinisterly. If you really wanna keep this AI level, then I suggest adding one level below of difficulty so that:
"Easy" - will be as "Easy" in RA2/YR

"Medium" - will be the current "Easy"

and hard and mental will remain as they are.

 

For the Apocalypse tank... well - I wasn't really disappointed that it was put as a stolen tech but really, if it has the rocking Tesla shells like elite Kirovs have - it is worth the double infiltartion.

Well, that is - unless you will make Apocalypse buildable again from deafult, make it less powerful and put instead a bigger tank that shoots f-in' Tesla shells!

 

(BTW, Scorpion Cell sucks - their spam power doesn't feel that strong! AND NEED MORE CHEMS)

Addind 4th difficulty is impossible afaik.

So does that mean the Cyborg prototypes will be a China exclusive? While I will miss the lost units, I will look forward to what shall happen.

I don't think so since Russia was more into cybernetics than any other Soviet sub-factions.

That is true Detective Taco, but if you look up the description. It says they were made when China stole Russian Cybernetics tech from Volkov.

Thus China exclusive maybeh?
