Sounds like you didn't use the updated Syringe.exe that we are testing for the Steam version.

Check if your anti-virus isn't blocking the file replacement.

It seems for whatever reason your YR is not being patched to 1.001 successfully. Can't really tell a reason here not knowing what the source of the exe is.

 

For MO to work it needs to be version 1.001.

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased COMMAND & CONQUER™ THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION on Steam and I'm attempting to play with a mod. However, I'm encountering an issue when trying to load it. When I launch the game with the mod selected, it initiates the loading process normally, displaying the initial screen and progress bar. However, at some point during the loading, the game simply closes and returns to the client without displaying any error message.

 

I've checked the "syringe.log" file for clues as to what might be happening and found the following content:

I analyzed the version of "gamemd.exe" and in the properties it says: file version 1.0.1.1, product version 1.11 (attached print)

 

I noticed that the mod only works with version 1.0.0.1. Does the ULTIMATE version install a newer version of Yuri's Revenge? How should I proceed?

I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions on how to resolve this issue. If anyone has encountered a similar situation or has any ideas about what might be causing this, please share your experience.

You can play Mental Omega on any version as long as you have gamemd.exe from 1.001.

 

Even if it says 1.0.1.1, it's still widely considered 1.001 by Syringe/Ares, except edited for Steam/EAApp.

This difference is only for the Steam/EAApp updated releases, which require a compatibility fix we are now testing at our Discord.

Got the game from Steam. Skirmish and campaign won't launch. I patched 336 files into 330. All set to run as administrator.

Hello, the game missions and skirmish starts loading, after 50% it closes and goes back to MO launcher.

 

The "MentalOmegaClient.exe", "gamemd.exe" and "Syringe.exe" are running with Admin Privilege and Combability Mode on WXP SP3.

That is /debug indeed. Pick and zip the folder that has the matching timestamp for the error.

 

I suggest uploading the except.txt or debug.log on our Discord's support section first though, because we have more people reading that there: https://mentalomega.com/discord

getting error when starting MO:

...

this happen in EA version of RA2, syringe.exe was updated of course (took from discord)

(game worked perfectly fine before EA updated it..)

I can't get into the Discord server via invite link. My Discord is logged in except it couldn't get accepted. The fixed issue I really need is in the Discord server (a fixed version of syringe.exe) and it's not in the main website for those who cannot load missions/skirmishes because they have the latest Steam/EA App version of RA2/YR.

I would like a new Discord invite link for Mental Omega please.

Hey everyone, attempted to update to new patch.  Installed Red Alert 2 + YR, ran and played it a bit.  Cloned folder and pasted the client files and the patch from ModDB and ran the client. Attempted to update, and keep getting the following error: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."

I have removed / added / cloned / etc.  Getting same error each time.  Rebooted, still getting same error.  Not really sure where to go from there.

 

[EDIT] - I ended up fixing the issue.  Followed all the steps again.  I guess I missed a file when copying stuff over.  Can get to main menu now, etc.

Having a weird issue now...

 

When I attempt to start a campaign, skirmish or multiplayer game, it attempts to load and gets about a 3rd of the way through before going back to menu.  No errors, no popups, no system messages, etc.

 

- I can run the base game just fine.  I can also use CNCNet on RA2 / YR with no issues.

1. I have a clean install folder with no CNCNet stuff in it off to the side for the mod / other mods later)

2. I am also using Win11 - Wondering if that could be the issue in general....)

 

MentalOmegaClient - Set to run admin / compat with xp and sp3

gamemd - Set to run admin / compat with xp and sp3 / 16 bit color

Syringe - Set to run admin / compat with xp and sp3

 

[EDIT 1]

 

- Attempted to run with other compat modes, still same issue
- Did restart computer to be safe after setting admin on files

 

[EDIT 2]

 

- Wiped out everything including uninstalling RA / YR and copied a template folder with original files

- Copied recommended files / copied mod files / pasted patch update for 3.3 / started up game.

- Tried different compat modes / admin settings on files / etc again... Same issue / symptoms

 

[EDIT 3]

 

- Wiped everything out, fresh install of everything game wise

- Tried compat modes / tried base 3.3 and updated through client

- Started up, same issue... Start game, loads 3rd of way, then closes out to menu.

Hello!

 

I am running into an issue where I can start the client, but even when attempting to begin a skirmish (as a test), the next screen loads where I can see the loading bar begin, but shortly after the window closes and the game never starts. It only brings me right back to the client.

 

I have attempted all the obvious related issues listed on the common issues screen, but I haven't seen any improvement. I have uninstalled and re-installed base game and Mental Omega.

 

I have attached the syringe .txt file after an attempt to begin a game.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
