Mordor and Gondor have their own subfaction-like summoned citadels right now. What about Misty Mountains? Maybe adding Gundabad fortress we saw in film will fit to the faction and moving Bolg as recruitable hero to that building instead of a Azog's summon. And of course to provide units I have 3 units suggestion

1) Gundabad Guards: That pike using orcs we dont had chance to see them fight. Elite pike units limited in number maybe?

2) Gundabad berserkers: We saw them running in front of the army and only units we saw fighting on Raven Hill. Glass cannon unit with high damage and low armor.

3) Gundabad war bats: Actually you had them in SaF mod so it doesnt need any explanation :)

As a final touch level 10 ability for Bolg: "Call the legions" That epic call Bolg did on a rock at Gundabad fortress scene in the film :)

I look forward to your feedbacks from both community and team! Thanks in advance :)

Well the thing is that Misty Mountains already has a Gundabad Pit that they can build from the start and is integral to their gameplay. Adding the SaF Giant Bats is something I'd like to see though, but that'll be in a future update.

In my opinion Bolg should be a normal hero, recruitable in the fortress instead of being summoned by someone else. I think he is an important character and that he must be a normal hero like others, maybe the second strongest, slightly less strong than Azog.

I understand where you're coming from, but Misty Mountains was already quite overloaded with big bad orcs, so we decided to switch Bolg out for the Great Goblin and keep the more iconic Azog model.

Our factions are based on 4 things, in varying degrees of importance: book lore, movie lore, rule of cool, and balance. Misty Mountains, like its Erebor counterpart, is heavily based on the Hobbit films. Keeping Bolg a main hero ticks book lore, but in movie lore he was a rather minor and forgettable character. Great Goblin ticks all 4: he's in the book, he's iconic in the movie, he has more potential for unique, cool abilities (which he's gotten) and he doesn't have to be another ferocious Orc. Yes, we could've switched out Muzgash for Bolg, but we all love Muzgash (him being an AotR-original) so that's not happening either. :p

Maybe sometime in the future Bolg's fate will change, but as of now we're keeping him as Azog's rank 10 summon. Adding him to your private AotR installation won't be hard to do anyway.

Thanks for your detailed answer. I now understand how you decide these things, and I think that maybe you are right. You have a good method to decide things, and you are brilliant in what you do. I'm sure the final mod will be perfect! Thanks for your work.

Oh i do hope that SaF's Bats are implemented, possibly as a replacement for the summoned spiders spell (since spiders are being removed from MM).

That's why the spiders will be staying in as a summon. ;)

Just so it's not lost in the "spam" of discord

"I'd suggest to make trolls auto heal like the wyrms at level 2 and to make poison arrows auto-castable like the gundabad archers Barbed arrows."

I agree with both of these suggestions.

I'd suggest giving the Gundabad BodyGuards the following ability.

- Rank 1: BodyGuard (Passive):

Nearby allied heroes receive +50% armor.

I have an ability suggestion for the Great Goblin;

-     Contract Kill:

     Requires: Rank 7

The Great Goblin puts out a bounty on the head of a target enemy hero ;thereby, reducing its armor by -25% and swarming it with some Goblin Town mercenaries, which will attack both the hero and nearby enemy units until killed or the contract expires. Furthermore, when a contracted hero is killed the killers  will receive a 500$ reward.

I really like what has been done with this faction. The azog model is unreal. Just wanted to ask if siege will be added to this faction or am I missing it?

Currently the Cave Trolls are the intended ranged siege unit.

Hello people!

Misty Mountains is great right now but I have some suggestions to make it greater.

Unit suggestion: Goblin spearmen.
Spear unit for early game cheap and like other goblin units weak.

Troll catapult and The Great Earth eaters are not in game for this release I think.

The range on trolls stone throw is further than that of an arrow tower... I'm yet to play the Misty Mountains faction, do they no longer have giants and so now trolls are the primary siege unit?

I'm really enjoying this mod.

hello,

i have an issue about azog

when i have azog and lvl him to lvl 10 without getting up his warg he will get his battle armor at level 6 but when i put him on his warg his battle armor is gone and will not get back!

is that supposed to be like that or is that a bug that needs to be fixed in the next update?
