can spidermines have a hide button? when they hide, the mines will burrow underground and behave like normal mines.

A new idea for robo general, since robo focusus on drones and robots i would say it needs a drone repair builing. It should be some sort of pod where repair-drones repair any building and other units (exept for the infantry of course )
The drones are not automaticly included when the pod is build, you have to buy them if you want to use them.
The pod can have only hold 4 drones at the beginning, but you can upgrade it to hold max 8 repair drones.
Also, the pod itself schouldn't be too cheap to balance it out.
The device on the side of the model is what is meant to be the drone.

as for comments about a spider drone defense... I actualy made something already. it doens't shoot them in pods, but it does spawn a steady stream of them. its a pretty wicked defense when used right. Especial vs the AI. It doesn't cripple an enemy force by itself, however, it completeyl forces a force to a halt as they struggle to kill the mines on the way. when paird with any artil its super lethal
Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

Cyber doesn't need a building that houses drones. They already have the repair drones that are built at the upgraded barracks.
It is also meant to repair buildings, it could be useful to be placed near defences so they can quickly recover. Also, they are far more robust in structure then any other repair unit.
The drones from the stucture schould repair any unit within range automaticly!! (inside the radius of the building of course)
It is more effective than the normal construction robots because you dont have to target the drones to a damaged building... or unit...
In essence, it works the same as the propaganda tower of china, but far more effective.

And the pod idea is similar to my idea about having an APC similar to the one in battlefield 2142 they launchs you upto the titan warship. Basically my idea was a apc that would fire 6 pods like a mobile sw across the map and 6 elite Stormtroopers jump out of course since it would be a mobile SW they would be slightly more powerful than the standard stormtroopers.
Altho that was throw out the window, :'( it would of been so awesome too.

But yeah my idea was for it to be a mobile sw of sorts, kinda like the super nuke cannon and so forth, 1-2 min reload and as you say more of a sneak attack, and why i said stormtroopers is because they are armed with Anti Infantry and Anti Armor weapons and them being elite and stronger than the standard stormtroopers you build would make it quite evil.
The idea with like the spider mines and other drones from it is kinda pointless since we already have 2 types of drone controllers in game, these are not drones there infantry pods.

Fast reuse time than that of the drop pods, you could even make it so the unit is only available if you have chosen to use the drop pod gen powers. (if it was because of balance issues? that might resolve it)

a pod firing machine for robo. the machine fires pods, which will burst open to depoly spider mines. long range. just thought it'll be cool to see many little things flying around the map. will be laggy though...

I had something similair in thought, but then for the infantry of cyber. I had the idea of a pod fire-ing module that can fire any infantry that goes inside of the building in special pods to any location in the map. It can even be used to garrison a building in no time...
Recharge time is 1,5 min and it can fire max 6 infantry at the time. It is still a manual launch and it is meant for quick backup in battle, or to garrison buildings instandly and controlling strategic points.

Yeah... I must agree. Maybe if it can be used for the new covert ops general. It suits him best because of his special infantry...
That is the best idea I have seen. Cyber already has its mobile super weapon and the l337 infantry fit Covert better.
The real question is what will be special about the infantry.

Fire your troops and move making it hard to track down and kill the unit.
For covert ops gen imo it don't fit "covert" ops besides there basic infantry sure they can be special and such but they are not cyborgs so the impact could smash there legs. But each to there own i guess >.>
No point 2 sides have drop pods.
