Yes, the M109 has many variants (in the U.S. Army). The latest is the M109A6 Paladin Self Propelled Howitzer.

I would guess that the British came up with their own home built version, so not as to have to rely on a foreign company (in this case America) for production and parts, for an arty unit, for British army. Which would make sense and be a good move by the British. But again that's just a wild guess on my part. I'm no expert.

There is another system out there possibly under development by the U.S. Army that would replace the M109 Paladin. It's the Crusader XM2001 Self-Propelled Howitzer . Last I read (on another site), is that this project was under the budget cut gun, and may have been canceled.

Well, that's interesting. In that case, i've changed my mind, lets keep the AS-90 as its a more advanced tank which makes sense if the game is set in the future. Which it is .

the only thing about the AS-90 is that it fires pretty slow although thats only my opinion, however since I have not used the AS-90 much I may have mistaken it for the MRLS fire rate, either way any long range weapons seem to require tons of backup support because instead of firing most units tend to flee when other units are closing in, this usually leads to their downfall.

u could replace the battlemaster with the t98 (or 89 not sure), give the red guards AK 47s lol and give em icbs as well , give usa nukes and completely change GLA into mec because the unts they have since pr are just not terrorist like, for real i mean the gla now has real tanks, that actually can keep up with crusaders and then give em the stealth and sneaky stuff as well? imo if used right gla can simply kill any other general even on the hardest difficulty setting or online

The GLA faction gets all its vehicles through blackmarket and since you can buy just about ANYTHING on eBay nowadays, I would say for an underground terrorist faction like GLA, it would not be too hard to land a good fair tank granted they have the right sources....

China I would have to say requires some tweaks also but hey you cant say we're giving the US everything under the sun. China has loads of awesome vehicles like the ROV (my fav.) and the upcoming Gauss Cannon for the base defenses! The upgrade for the Red guard has been quite significant as well, like the AP autorifle upgrade that can annihalate any infantry and some vehicles with absolute ease. I think all the factions are well balanced out and I mean come on, the GLA cant be a MEC because they are a terrorist faction, MEC is an organized well disciplined army. The GLA can get good tanks through black market!

try to be sneaky using massive tanks, as in like popping overlords outta a tunnel, it just seems wrong and doesn't fit the gla

hey, really it all depends on the player. If you wanna go stealthy and sneaky, use the scorpions or the stuff before the mod, theyre not taken out you know. If you want to go hardcore and start kicking the shit out of other forces, brute force is provided by the mod. I think if I want to counter against all those fancy abrams and uberlord tanks, I wouldnt use scorpions and get my ass kicked. The powerful tanks are there for a reason, it balances out the game because of other stuff!

Yeah. I see your point, Spartan, but if the GLA are all stealthy and small scale then they would just get their butts kicked over and over again. The big tanks are just there so that if the GLA base gets attacked they actually stand a chance of winning in a straight fight. And considering how utterly useless stinger sites are against tanks, that seems fair.

u ever used a battle bus with 7 rpgs and one jk inside,
horror for inf gen, tank gen will better get a few ecms out and fast, same for nuke, usa's gotta tech up to get avengers, other gla need to get few of these things as well...

use a few battle buses and keep their number growing by producing more and u can't do shit to the gla, even if u got 5000 emperor tanks

it really is my own opinion but really it all depends on how you use em, anyone who agrees or disagrees is entitled to their own opinion so yea you can think that if you want.

Ok, now to be on topic. The GLA may be able to build a tank worthy of an overlord (medium tank represents this) or even an emperor, so why not be able to buy one.

The GLA could fabricate the Chassis, but the internal workings are a different story. As well as the armor and weapon systems.
