Possibly if it's just idling. But like I said, there's tons of background processes running on the computers at work. So that may cause the life to dwindle a bit. Also, the laptops are almost always plugged in. Having the battery always be fully charged shrinks its life as well.

Yeah I know this thread's been made before but I'm too lazy to search for and bump it so if someone could kindly merge?

Just got my new rig up and working today and currently making it homely.

Mobo: Foxconn N570SM2AA-8EKRS2H NF570
Processor: AMD Athlon X2 4600+ 2.24Ghz
RAM: 2GB Kingston ValueRam 667MHz/PC2-5300
Graphics Card: GeForce 8600GT
And as well as my current/old HD I also got a Maxtor 250GB 7200RPM SATAII, which is now my primary (naturally).

Funnily enough, as I write this I discovered 60GB on my old drive I didn't know I had. BONUS! I have just found my My Music dump

Oh, I got a new case and I ended up with a dual-fan 550W PSU, too.

What've you fellas got these days?

You people have too much money, you need to give it to me instead of buying new PCs.

Meh, mine below.

Internals:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ overclocked to some rating I can't be arsed to find
Abit SLI Mobo
ATI X800GTO
DVD/CD writer/reader drive
4HDs equaling 1.6Tb (technically, actually have around 1.5Tb)
2GB DDR PC3200

Externals:
A black antec case
Some form of wireless logitech Keyboard
Razer Copperhead Tempest Blue Mouse
Creative surround sound system of some type

It could be called, saving ;)?

For me personally, my old system broke down. It sort of blew itself up :/. Power suddenly messed everything up beyond repair.

I'll also gladly take some of that extra cash, as I need some money to put into a computer besides this one, that runs XP and is a reliable gaming machine. ;) Because, right now, I'm running:

Compaq Presario SR2168HM (2007 build)

Mobo: Unknown
Processor: AMD Sempron 3400+
Memory: Slightly >512 MB DDR2RAM, unknown manufacturer
Storage: 120 GB memory, unknown manufacturer
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 6100

Not the best, but a lot better than my last garbage can.

OLD SIG
When history witnesses a great change Razgriz reveals itself,
first as a dark demon. As a demon it uses it power to rain death upon the land,
and then it dies. However after a period of slumber Razgriz returns
As the demon sleeps, man turns on man.
Its own blood, and madness soon cover the earth.
From the depths of despair awaken the Razgriz.
Its raven wings ablaze in majestic light.
Amidst the eternal waves of time
From a ripple of change shall the storm rise
Out of the abyss peer the eyes of a demon
Behold the Razgriz, its wings of black sheath
The demon soars through the dark skies
Fear and Death trail its shadow beneath
Until Men united wield a hallowed sabre
In Final Reckoning, the beast is slain.
Razgriz intrerpretation

@Carnivean: My riggy only cost me 300 quid for the lot off ebuyer. ;) Not a bad deal if I do say so myself. ;)

Sadly I had to spend a whole 3.99 for a new sound card because this one's particularly gash. Can't even listen music while I install something big...

You are the solace for everyone here who believes they have a shit machine. ;)

It could be called, saving :D?

Your graphics cards alone are about £500 more than I can afford. ;) I'd be saving until this time next year if I wanted a rig close to what you have. ;)

Only thing really letting your rig down is your graphics card. The X800 is okish but I'd go nvidia. ;) You have PCI-E, right?

btw, the purple thing in the pic is a UV cold cathode, which is very nice cuz stuff glows, like the UV reactive anti-fungal dye in the water. that makes it look really cool ;)

I do indeed have PCI-E. And there is one very simple reason I have that X800, it was free. I plan on upgrading, but I'll only do that when I can't run on medium settings in new games (that I actually want to play) smoothly.

Well the dev team profess its requirements to not be too bad. How reliable that is is anyone's guess tho.

Currently I think my entire existence depends on me getting BioShock, MTW2 Kingdoms, Crysis and The Witcher. :p Considering the latter 2 are coming out on THE SAME DAY I'm gonna be screwed for doing anything for like a whole week or more... lol.
