@ Doc: If you think of a TV remote thats light gray, with A, B, and a D-pad, you have the Wii controller. Add to that a nunchaku attachment (adds control stick and Z trigger), and a Shell thing that looks like a GC controller that slips onto the remote, and thats the controller possibilities you have going.

Also interesting news: According to THQ development costs for the Wii aren't as big as for the 360/PS3.
This probably means it will indeed not be as technically advanced as the other 2 (graphic wise etc) but It also means its easier for starting developers to make games for the Wii and can actually deliver it quite some 3rd party support..

Think about it, Revolution and all the others have been overdone, and I mean look at Playstation's originality: Another Playstation.
Wii is used in all cultures as "together" which shows this is a family console understood by everyone, it also means "to bring together", gamers rooted in old names will indeed shun their faces away from the name but still this is unique in that Nintendo is actually breaking the code everyone knows. It seems everyone is resisting change when change is a good thing
Besides don't take much notice of the name, it's how it plays is what counts

It even got worse last night: The new PS3 controller will have 6 direction motion sensing.. and a guide button and triggers like on the xbox controller. Sony did it again.. oh and the PS3 will cost 500 dollars for a 20 GB version, which lacks HDMI and online support. The 60 Gig version will cost 600 dollars... Nintendo and MS should be able to win this console war now..

Don't count your chickens. I actually thought the PS3 was gonna be cheaper than that. I expect the PS3 will come out with a better array of games than the 360's meagre attempt 
Sadly, the games will not be any cheaper, so it won't have that selling point. Sony have had a distinct advantage in holding on with theirs, in that they've been able to see what everyone else has been doing and go one better...or take the idea and implement their own version.

Honestly, there is no such word or meaning on any portuguese culture. Actually, W isn't used by portuguese words, at al... maybe on translation from some foreign words on certain regions (which might include Brazil, in my case, although even here the W is vastly avoided). And this is only one of the inumerous exceptions...
