I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that.

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

He means the design is a bit to futuristic for it's time. You could possibly compare the vehicles in Star Wars 4-6 to 1-3 and say which ones have the newest design, despite being from an older time.

I guess you could draw a bit of the KoDA discussion into it. "Doesn't fit" :p
Me, I like it.

Well thanks for stopping my post then :p I worked hard on that!
I can see where he's coming from though, as that was my first reaction when you first redid the Royal Guards, which seems like ages ago now... But I love them now!

I guess it's because of the thin "angled" lines on the beard which could remind you of something like circuitry.

I still don't see how real world artistic development and style is relevant to Middle-earth. Technology and culture in Middle-earth barely developed over thousands of years, in contrast to ours.

Bingo .I love the upper-nose part but the beard tends to look like that "circuitry" way .

Look at the Moria columns as shown in the movie.

Yupp, looking at them right now. Their design ist simpler, although their huge stones would have allowed much more detail.

It's mainly the same triangular shape, stacked on oneanother, and repeated on each side of the column. So there are many lines in the same direction and with few different angles.

Decided not to do it . Tools are too crappy. I don't even own the game...

Anyways, second model! First, a bit of background... EA announces their expansion pack. I show a friend the picture of the Numenorians fighting the Wolfos from Ocarina of Time and complain loudly that it looks like they'll be using Numenorians. He asks me "Well, can you do better?". I replied "Hell yeah. Get back to me in a week."

Well, it took a bit more than a week, but I've got me my nice concept of an Arnorian soldier, early to middle Third Age. Based heavily off a combination of the Numenor costume, some slightly elvish elements, and description of the Dunedain ranger costumes, I came up with this. Hope ya like it.

And a nicer picture of the kit.

Technical specs: 45,000 polygons, 7 1024x1024 diffuse colour maps, 7 1024x1024 normal maps. Could probably have been done with less, but i like the insane detail on some bits  Better renders available on request etc.

my lord, why are you so good????

I honestly doubt you'd learn much from someone recording their modeling or texturing process. I for one am so used to clicking the things I need to and using shortcuts that you wouldn't know what was going on unless you had a substantial amount of knowledge already.

So, I've been secretly working for Phoenix Rising for the last while. For those that don't know, PR is an epic Star Wars mod for Empire at War (a Star Wars RTS), probably the best one out there. I've had a chance to work on a bunch of vehicle models for the mod, something which was lacking when I joined up. It gave me a chance to see what I could do with a totally different texturing/modeling style than the one I'm used to. I also am modeling a lot of vehicles that have minimal/no references, which is infuriating and fun at the same time.

Anyways, now that I've been officially revealed, I can post some work here for you guys. You can see some more screens here.

Here's some renders of the first one, the Rebel Armoured Freerunner. If there's interest, I'll post renders of the rest of them.
