It's good that you like this mod, welcome, but for future reference, use this forum for your technical questions.

To clarify Mirkwood's toggle units, Mirkwood uses a lot of multifunctional archer units (Can you really imagine a 1000 year old elf dying to a common orc because they neglected to bring a sword with them?) However, all of them fill different niches in a Mirkwood army

Maethor: Your basic Mirkwood unit, Stealthy, Very good attack damage and speed with a bow, but with a shortish range. Good attack damage with a sword, but pretty poor armour, not designed for an extended scrap. Expensive compared to other factions basic units.

Woodmen hunters: Cheaper alternative to Maethor, useful for bolstering your ranks (numbers are hard to get with an expensive MW army) Also good to build to get that Minifac building to a level high enough to access it's powerful heroes. Slightly longer range than a Maethor, but far lower attack speed and lower damage. Tougher armour, but lower axe attack. Good against buildings with their axes.

Lorien Marchwarden: Stealthy, good bow attack damage, higher range than Maethor, but slower attack speed. Has unique power. Better close combat attack than a maethor, but low armour in close combat meaning it has the same disadvantages.

Lorien Galadhrim: Only stealthy when cloaked. Are therefore unable to attack while stealthed. Move slowly when cloaked. Attack-wise, are about the same as the marchwarden. Have a much higher armour value, making them very good in close combat.

Lorien Silver Tree Guardians: Unique summon/Bodyguard unit. Slightly higher attack, and slightly lower armour than Galadhrim

Rivendell is based more around specialized, but very elite soldiers.

Yeah Rivendell provides the elite melee and cavalry for Mirkwood, Lothlorien provides elite archers, and the Beornings provide heavy infantry and versatile archers best recruited in early game.
I will remember Rhovanion Alliance, RIP .

I agree with that. I hope some of them, such as the Maethor, will be very poor swordsmen, essentially forcing them to be only archers.

They wouldn't be poor swordsmen, just better archers. Then again, this reply is pointless thanks to Dain's explanation. :p

Hehe, that would be funny. :p

is there going to be an installer

I can bet quite a bit on that.

Proof!

Those Trebuchets look fantastic, the scale of them compared to everything else is brilliant!

I've read in one of the other threads that "the old gondor trebuchet wasn't a trebuchet but a catapult." Sorry to say it, but that's not right. You see the difference between a trebuchet and a catapult has nothing to do with size, but with the source of the force needed to launch the projectile. A catapult uses elastic force, by twisting ropes, while a trebuchet is anything that uses leverage (usually a counterweight, but not always). Trebuchets have been built that were operable by a few men pulling ropes, one man holding the trebuchet back and then releasing it. While the stones flung away with this were not nearly as heavy as those you could launch with your sweet new trebuchet, it still is technically a trebuchet...
Am I Belgian or Flemish? Hmm, me thinks I'll just stick to European...

I think in that instance they said that metaphorically speaking, like they were exaggerating the fact.

Erm, the point was that the old Treb was more like a onager. Seriously. Compare it to a real treb.
