don't have a clue really, but what it does is making randomized stuff alot easier  like, your mordor orcs, you know how their randomized to... I think it was atleast 700+ different orcs you could get!! anyways, it's something that orcs, uruks, Rohirrim, and others may have a good use of  but Men of Minas Tirith won't do them soo much good, cause they have a standard uniform

so to say, it makes the game more randomized, and thus more fun to watch
Like your mordor orcs.... on one skirmish (multiplayer) you might never see the exact same orc twice :D wich makes it totally awesome

so, hearing ched's killed it.... well... hope he'll fix it :)

actualy it is 21000+ mordor orcs now  hardly will you find two similar orcs in one game. but it is not just that LUA allows tricky coding of really cool powers. something like ... 80 % chance of blocking attack from enemies but only when unit is attacking as well or timelimited mount ( did anyone try to code that?)

so, hearing ched's killed it.... well... hope he'll fix it

of course he will, he is the best coder around :)

hehe. kinda funny, cause i did the same a few days ago. Killed it :p
all subobjects were shown without the upgrades :p it's really annoying.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides
By the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will,
Shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness,
For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger
Those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

well cahik.... 21K sounds even better :p ched said it was more than 4K lines of code then, and that he wouldn't do it cause it took to much space.... but hearing he did it, and lost it, makes me go Craze!! :p

*leaves animating for while*

system of randomization has been redone a bit. now it has less lines of code then 700+ versions :p

*went back to max to finish some anims*

On the subject of the trebuchets, are they going to - when ordered to "build" themselves - is the building of it literally going to be animated, or is it going to be like in Age of Empires, where it just kind of appears as built?

consider the fact that all the anims are almost completly made from scratch i would say that it will be some way around or some really simple anim. as much as i like animating that treb thingy is really nightmare for me :p

structure anims arent big problem IMO. the treb however is another case :p just to let you know there is i think 22 bones on gondor soldier. there are four those in trebs crew + some bones on the treb itself. each second of anim has 30 frames and the firing anim for treb has almost 9 seconds as far as i remember. hope you see the point here. on the other hand making anim for unit isnt that hard cause those rarely have more than 3 sec and number of bones is much smaller.

Well hopefully the trebuchet will be well used in the mod then, after all that hard work.
Also over 2100 varieties of orcs?! That's insane, I hope the script works again.
