DLotS - thanks man! It's always an honour to be complemented by an admin :p Even if you went weird on me on msn the other day. I'd advise you to read the message history though, and you'll see that I was making a joke about myself and not you :xcahik_:

1. Being complemented by an admin shouldn't be any different than being complemented by anyone else. Only modding skills count here, not forum ranks.
2. You deserved it.
3. I advise you to read the message history, then you would see that it was one of my nasty jokes :) I just love to fool people and test their reactions... tells a lot about their character ^_^

BIG Off Toic, but needed:

1) Naturally, I was just being silly :p
(And I was refering personally that were I am an admin in Sweden, over 20 000 people I siomply don't have the time to get personally involved in discussions) ^_^
2) Thanks
3) Well, hm, if you remember a while back when I had a little unnessesary (I never know how to spell that, lol) grudge with Lauri, cause of missunderstandings in tone (which resulted in a lot of people getting upset, all but Lauri, lol) - this was not that appropriate I guess :) Like I explained to him back then, I have a history of bad temper and when someone goes ballistic like U did over something that I feel innocent to (I didn't get that you was kidding, since I even asked you and you continued) - I prefer to move away rather than, like that time above, counter with aggression ;) So up until now I thought you lost something... like your mind, lol. Nice to hear that wasn't the case :)

Well, glad that's settled then, and if you are wondering what DL and I speak about - it's simply that MSN conversations CAN get out of hand when one part doesn't understand that the orhet part is not beeing seroius...

Back on topic :xcahik_:
Sûl has begun working on the Libraries and we have started testing and setting heroes up for this new system. All is going well so far =)

I like the idea too, just as long as the powers are not that expensive, what that person was saying before, between 6-10 or so thousand I think is too much. Perhaps it could cost as much to buy the upgrade as it costs to add it to the resource cost to summon the hero, which unfortunately is only revealed in the expansion, but in return for the lower cost it would require the hero to actually go into the library and spend the time to research it him/herself in the library so that he/she can't be used in combat for a certain duration.

They can't enter the structure to get the upgrade/power...
1) It's hard coded
2) The AI will never use it

We have another problem... BIG one... I've asked around in the forum and on MSN and despite that and despite that I actually thought we could find a solution, I cant get ANY new structures to be built by the AI - except those that were originally in the Commandsets... In other words, the new Statues and Wells do get build since they were already in the CS's, but the Hobbit House, Dwarven Mine, and thus the future Libraries wont get built, which means the AI can't use them, which means, the AI wont get any Hero upgrades... which means disaster in playability! So unless Sûl can find a solution that neither mh-gollum or Zimoo knows, we have to scrap the libraries after all, cause I will not have things in this mod that have such importance to the game, but that will not bu used by the AI :(

The only way around this would be to use already existing structures for this, like the Armory or like Sûl said, fortress expansions. Or maybe even the fortress keep itself? By an extra commandset... But I dunno... it kind of removes half the coolness about this new feature which would be the new structures...

WTF that wasn't what you said to me on MSN. You said they could build most of the new buildings but there was just 1 that wouldn't.

Are you editing the .bse files?

It's "only" all NEW buildings that are not in the original game (in no commandset, like the Hobbt House) that can't be built. Which would equal the new Libraries too right. But I talked to Argolis and maybe I can solve it now... :p

Good, that's a relief. It would suck to have a really cool idea ruined by technology....

Nope... didn't work. That way they built NOTHING instead, lol. Personally I give up on this... we'll see what Sûl can find out, or we'll "just" leave the library thinng out after all. This is why I always nag about not getting ahead of one self with too many ideas that wont function all together including AI, and working AI is a must... :/

Well, the AI does build upgrades. So if we can't figure out a way to let the AI build new buildings, let's stick the Library menu to the final fortress upgrade. The Ivory Tower would in my opinion be connected to the MinasTirithLibrary anyway, just as 'Orthanc' most definitely has a 'Chamber of Artifacts', don't you think?

The number of additional buttons should also fit well within the 32 commandbutton limit. There won't be any ranking up button, but for the basic low-end powers, we can stick to the basic upgrade (nûmenor stonework in the case of MotW) and for the final powers take the second (Ivory Tower) as a prerquisite.

If we should 'redistribute' fire munitions as once discussed as a possibility, there would even be another button freed in the set. :p

It would clearly not be as cool as new buildings, but i would still like it very much. So let's not scrap the plan altogether, allright?

*Being concerned*, Sûl.

Sûl, I wouldn't wanna waste all your work on this either but we must find a good solution that works for me, you, SEE players and the AI, and that still feels like a great improvement in the game. Using those upgrades is smart, but it's only logical for some factions (not Elves and Goblins). But perhaps we could use the Goblin Tresure Trove and the Elven Armory for the last two... I dunno. It's a great step down from the special structure... I think we MUST find someone that can tell us exactly how to get new structures in the AI system. I know that BoG has done this... but Stealth has left. But there must be others... (like Zimoo) but that remembers =p

Without a solution the Rohan faction is not going to be used either (by the AI that is) :/

Really weird that the added Statues and Wells worked instantly though, at least for the Good side (haven't added the evil statues to the AI Base files yet). I just placed them in the Base files, and they get built. But not the "new" things from WB...

Can't you just add it to the command set? or is it hardcoded?

Pretty dumb way to set up a "moddable" game, EA doesn't allow the AI to build new structures.

Anyhow, I hope this gets in... it's looking great so far.

Right this has got nothing to do with Libraries but In my opininon a building that is relitivily cheap and gives you a nice boost to your Cps :p would be nice.
(Also if you cant do the Libraries here is an opportunity to use those models
for the libraries-May need editing for evil)
If you think this is stupid then buisness as usual. :p :mad2:

God im bad at spelling.
