Sorry for the lateness, there was a sudden change of plan right before I was about to post :thumbsupsmiley:

Must... find... right words... describe... awesome... No, seriously, those guys seem to rock... will they always be wielding two swords? I kinda got the impression that there was a toggle...
Am I Belgian or Flemish? Hmm, me thinks I'll just stick to European...

They either wield 2 swords or a sword and shield. I really gave them 2 swords on a whim :thumbsupsmiley: Quite fun though... oh yes.... spot the mistake in Lauri's render (betcha can't!)

I've always wondered if there would ever be a dual sword wielding unit...

I hope the staff pick is the Thorin III's fire-starter emblem, that was such a neat idea.

Great stuff, but the votes did all seem to be concentrated on a few (good ones at that). Maybe next time the voter could nominate more than one entry... Good job to everyone that won, those were some pretty neat designs!

And no... I don't see a mistake, the horse doesn't even get his head chopped off. -_- Great vids though.

EDIT: Is the arm detached from the body, cause I might see a space between them...

Very, very nice Lauri. :evgr: Now I'm just hoping that the enemies will literally get decapitated with that second anim. ;) Oh, that reminds me: will there be any blood anims in this mod? I think Elvenstar had them, and they looked pretty cool.

Edit: well done to the four finalists. I can't wait to see your designs in the mod.

no blood for RA. there are two main reason for that, first is that we dont think that RTS needs blood at all and the second is lag.

And I think that all attempts at doing blood in BFME looks ridiculous. Totally OTT, non realistic stuff..

I know what it is...
it's... it's... it's the sword texture!
Dain was correct... you'd never figure it out

Congratulations to the winners, very good designs indeed! Very good animations, Lauri!
By the way, when are you going to reveal the staff choice?

Unless you're me, you wouldn't.

Suffice to say, Mirkwood swords have a different colour scheme to rivendell swords. And those are mirkwood swords. Check out the renders.

Yes, but I have not been able to check the site in quite some time either. In fact, I pretty much have time to check in Sundays to see the updates. So I guess I'm missing out. Plus I've forgotten about some things.

I noticed now... Lothlorien has somewhat brownish swords, while those of Mirkwood are greyish and those of Rivendell are silver-goldish, right? And the poor woodsmen have no swords at all, they'll have to cope with axes and staves for the Beornings.. Poor guys...

Wow, ... I hope this doesn't mean I have suddenly become you, Nertea.. That would mean all laws in physics, chemistry and biology would have to be rewritten now... Although on the other hand, it WOULD put me on the staff, wouldn't it? :p

Seriously, though, I really like the idea of sword colour schemes... I had already thought I didn't really like the brown sword hilts, but of course I had no idea it was a mistake.

Whats Nertea got to do with any of it? The elves are mine

Anyway, sort of right. Lorien use the brown/gold they use in the films, Mirkwood use black and silver while Rivendell use black and gold.
