It is still Sunday on the West Coast ;)

Application of the contest results - showing the staff pick for the Contest - JEV3's first entry

The banner will be used for the Iron Guard. As a bonus, I've also included one of the Heavy Armour skins for the Iron Guard with the banner carrier in the render. Enjoy!

I hope to eventually display what I've done with each of the contest entries eventually.

Hey great work everyone. I hardly ever post, but I was wondering why the banner has 5 gems (or whatever they are)? I thought the dwarves would have 7, for the 7 rings given to the dwarves. Were there 5 kingdoms or something. Lonley Mountain, Moria, Iron Hills, Bule Mountains, and ... realm founded by Gimli? Anyway, just wondering. Peace

DWARVES!!! I'm sorry. :p Congradulations JEV3. :thumbsupsmiley:

Just a thought: does anyone on the team have The Third Age on console? I know, very crappy storyline and all but some of the armour and weaponry that Idrial and Hadhod wear and use look really cool. I was thinking that since you guys sometimes base your work off GW, maybe you could base some concepts off this game. Just a thought, though. ;)

I have it. I've sent some pictures and suggestions of Hadhod's armour to Nertea before.

I see. Thanks. How exactly do you use these? Inspiration for skins, units or both?

By the looks of things, skins, seeing as you don't see GW coming up with unit names like Thirrad, for example. :p Besides, doesn't GW take more content from the movies than from the books?

:)

I love how it turned out, and the Iron Guards get to have their own banner. The gems aren't specifically symbolic, and seven just wouldn't fit. They are more decoration, they use gems to decorate everything else anyways. However the banner itself is still dwarfed by those awesome looking Iron Guards... any excuse works to showcase them again! ;)
