Well Christmas, New Year, Essays, Exams and Skiing Trips have gotten to various members of staff, but hopefully that should change now. And to make up for the last two peekless weeks and for the first update of 2008, we have a large update courtesy of Andros:

First off, we have the Dale Watchhouse, which you've seen before (incorrectly named the Dale Barracks :p) which has been finished off. Secondly we have the Swordsmen's Guild and lastly the Marksmen's Guild. Enjoy :)

Another good update, I like how you've put the "jeweled streets" quote from FotR to use.
I also like how the Dwarven columns are incorporated.
One more thing I like.. :p .. the "Guild" names of the buildings is pretty original, nice!
A question..what is the purpose of the Watchhouse? I would assume it's their tower, but I dunno..
Cheers,
-mike

Are you gonna have to like choose an upgrade to make the Watchhouse into a guild or something? Because it's the same model with a section added on to the side and new weapons, so it seems like it'd be some kind of upgrade thing. Nonetheless, insanely detailed and well done. Nice job to Andros.

Well, then what's the Swordsmen's Guild?
/hopes you don't plan on having a building for each individual unit..

looks really really good. Are you going to reskin the buildings from the old factions as wel? Cause I fear they may be a little ugly compared to these things xD

quoting the site

Q: Will there be any graphical improvements to the game? New updated models/skins/animations for units, heroes & buildings etc?
A: Most of the game's units from the original factions have been redone. Buildings and bases are generally good enough for our purposes.

But the buildings are indeed good enough, and I think it would be unnessecary to reskin them...

Agreed, especially since it would create that much more work for the staff. I actually liked most of the buildings in BFME. I think everyone's just a little tired of the same old thing and that's why we're hoping for reskins, but honestly they are actually pretty good. Great update by the way.

Nice update I've noticed that Andros does mostly Dale stuff,Nert does Dwarf Stuff,Halbarad (I think) does Harad stuff so i'm guessing Celeglin is doing Elven stuff while he's absent, explaining the lack of Elven updates?.

I like the Guild idea very creative.

I think I remember that Celeglil told us, when I was just a mere fan, that he didn't make anything elvish for RA, besides a statue...
that was in the TEA forums..

That's correct, Celeglin did some Rohan stuff I believe.

Edit: And he skinned the Elven unit you get from the Hunter's Lodge.

I like the buildings, but they seem a little overtly similar.
