Here are some ideas of mine, things I think might could be used in this mod. Post you own ideas here if you want. Remember these are thoughts and sugestions not demands.

#1. Haurons have the ability to pose as regular trees, making them exelent for ambush and spying.
#2. The Harad main faction has a rope ladder unit, a cheaper, more mobile version of the siege ladder.
#3. Stealth based archers, such as rangers and thirrad can climb trees to avoid close range infantry.
#4. The Dunabad orcs have some sort of fire based beserker unit.
#5. The Moria orcs have a very stealthy spy unit, can be used to open enemy gates and steal recources.

Thats all I got for now.

#1 and 2 I don't know if they're possible, #3 I'm leaning to impossible, #4 sounds reasonable, but I would have #5 as an Elven unit. I don't see Moria orcs (or all orcs in general.......except Uruk-Hai maybe) having that type of personality that stays calm and away from battle. I won't bother suggesting anything because mine will either a) be too long so as to be a completely different mod, and/or b) relate way too much to my novel-in-progress.

Heres a suggestion and an idea for the future. The suggestion is that you rename the dunland horsemen Rohan traitors, and the idea for the future is of an independant Rhun faction

Rhun - main faction dominated by heavily armored easterlings from the movies.

River Carnen - employs elite archers and marksmen

Sea of Rhun - Home of the Kine of Araw (single cavalry unit) and the mighty wainriders

Khand - barbaric faction home of basic tribeal swordsmen and spearmen

I'm really thinking about this and I will continue thinking of ways to make Rhun a balanced independent faction............................
I will remember Rhovanion Alliance, RIP .

Yeah #3 is probably not possible, but I think it would be useful for escaping large hordes and shooting down close range troops without risking to much.
What do you think about the first one?

Why would they be called traitors? They were never allied with Rohan, they just always hated them. No betraying involved.

I've got some more

#6. Rohan has a mounted scout/messenger unit that is good for scouting and can rally troops and possibly summon reenforcments. would be great for seetting ambushes and that sort of thing. It could easily escape most close range units and would come by itself.

#7. Erebor has an armoror unit, a guy that goes around and increases armour and weapon strength.

#8. Dale has a small trebuchet-like siege weapon, they need some kind of siege weapon.

#9. Erebor has a large powerful ram unit, possibly a team of rams.

If the rest of the staff don't mind:

#6. This sounds interesting.......*considers*...though I can't say the same for the other modders.

#7. Erebor already has a unit that plays a similar role, if I interpreted your idea correctly.

#8. Dale already has a small (if you can call it small) siege weapon, a formidable and versatile one at that.

#9. Erebor already has more than 1 type of ram.

Thanks for the ideas though, keep them coming. :)

I can't say much about the Rohan traitors (I do remember seeing a description of the unit saying something similar, but I'm not sure if I did......gah! mind's playing tricks on me!), but the Rhun faction won't be incorperated, I can tell you that now. From what I know now there won't be any RA II, and the team have already made it clear as to why they don't want an entire Rhun faction (for reasons that escape me at the moment). Your ideas sound awesome, and I'm wishing that it could happen (I'm a big fan of Rhun myself) but as we can see, it can't.

Thanks for the new info Bard, very much appreciated. :p Anyway, #6 has got me thinking......it sounds really unique and interesting, but I can't say much about it. #7 I don't really like the idea.....is he like a leadership-provider type unit? Or am I interpreting it wrong? If it is, I don't really agree with it. Dale would definately need one siege weapon from what I know, but I don't agree with a trebuchet for some reason. It doesn't feel right to me. #9 I like, and now I'm more excited because there's more than one type of ram.

About #7, my idea was a single dwarf with an aility to enhance the armour and weapory of the regular Dwarven units, like the armoury, but a unit instead of a building.

I always wanted a machine that can fire rocks, but also can toggle to be a ram by inserting a ram and a bunch of rope.

That sounds cool.
Here are a few more ideas.

#10. A recource gathering unit for Ered Luin, that gathers from the minifaction building, but can also be used as a combat unit. It would come alone, but would be easy to mass. Basically it would be a slightly more combat based version of the orc worker units.

#11. Dale has a marketplace building that could be used for improvments, as a place for townsmen to gather recources, and a place to train the townsmen.

#12. The Thirrad have the ability to lay deadly traps for enemy units.

And what would these traps be? punji sticks?

Is it possible to have a battalion of have have the gather resource ability. When they are gathering resources, they will act out individually, but when you command them to move, they will form back into a battalion?

Thank you for considering my ideas and for the the information. :cool2:
About #7, my idea was a single dwarf with an aility to enhance the armour and weapory of the regular Dwarven units, like the armoury, but a unit instead of a building.

So it's basically a leadership-providing unit. Well, Bard said that something very similar has already been included.

I always wanted a machine that can fire rocks, but also can toggle to be a ram by inserting a ram and a bunch of rope.

I'm just thinking realistically of how that would work.....yep, way overcomplicated. Unless you mean it could do both things at once...then that would make more sense and work far better. :xd:

#10. A recource gathering unit for Ered Luin, that gathers from the minifaction building, but can also be used as a combat unit. It would come alone, but would be easy to mass. Basically it would be a slightly more combat based version of the orc worker units.

Very nice idea, but personally I'd rather see it in Dale; they seem to be more agricultural (so to speak) than the Dwarves. But if there are gonna be any resource gathering/worker units in the mod, I'm hoping they'll have the Rebuild ability. That was another thing that lacked in both games (unless it was in #1, I forgot :crazed: ).

#11. Dale has a marketplace building that could be used for improvments, as a place for townsmen to gather recources, and a place to train the townsmen.

I have a good feeling that has already been incorperated in the mod. Still, nice idea. ;)

#12. The Thirrad have the ability to lay deadly traps for enemy units.

Ooooh, I like this one. Don't know if it's possible though.

And what would these traps be? punji sticks?

No, they can be bear traps and.......well, that's all I can think of for now. :p But bear traps would be a good one, if it's possible. ;)

Is it possible to have a battalion of have have the gather resource ability. When they are gathering resources, they will act out individually, but when you command them to move, they will form back into a battalion?

I reckon this one's possible, though I don't really see the point in this, I mean there are already worker units who can fight, so why overcomplicate things and make them form into a battalion?

#10 was originaly going to be a totaly combat based unit of rough mountain Dwarves, then I thought about them being by themselves and then I thought about them being resorce gatherers. So the idea started as a very different concept and I think they'd fit with the the dwarves if they were miners.

#13. Mordor has a captain like unit, equipped with a whip and a sword, would be weaker, but cheaper than the other captain units. They could be for Isengard instead.

#14. One of Dale's minifactions will have a falconer unit that reales a small bird with incredible scouting ability.

#15. One of the ranger factions has a small, but strong cavalry unit with only 3 rangers.

I think the fact that they are one of - if not the best - stealthy ambush-archers in the game makes for good enough traps.

And to your above idea, #15, the ranger factions aren't really meant for them to have cavalry, and Gondor already has some really good cavalry.

Yes I see your point, but these would be different from ambush, they could do thier job long after the Thirrad were gone, taking away the danger of actual combat. Part of the idea is based around how cool it would be to watch part of a horde of orcs suddenly cut in half.

In wc3 frozen throne, the orcs had a siege device called the demolisher. its basically a ballista powered by a trebuchet weight. Does anyone know what the real life counterpart name is? I think it could be a siege weapon for the dalemen

#13 and #14 I agree with (they fit their factions quite well), but I don't see the point in #15. Gondor has already got some of the best cavalry in the game *looks at the Knights of Dol Amroth*, and the Dunedain/Ithilien mini-faction is supposed to be a stealthed one. There wouldn't be much need.

#12. The Thirrad have the ability to lay deadly traps for enemy units.

I think the fact that they are one of - if not the best - stealthy ambush-archers in the game makes for good enough traps.

But it would make them even deadlier if they had it. I agree with hdh7's last post.

I think it would be called a counterweight catapult, if anything. :) It could work for Dale, but I think the team might have something else in mind...
