three times? :O well, it's not my fault you wanted to have some goodies on each hero :xcahik_: hehe, but still, it should he easier to edit things now... like, I add a hero to gondor, a minor one, if you just want to have some dirt on him, it's just a smal edit now, and not a paragraph :D But still, I understand if you don't want to add anything at all on the hero ;) I just like to read your stuff, I don't need info on all heroes and units ;)

OMG... rewriting the entire story 3 times ?!? That's insane !

Being a fellow writer myself (YES, I am a writer myself), I know how hard it is...

However, I just made a small note, didn't intend to make extra work for you, Matias (it seems you are already full of it :xcahik_: )

I don't mean just that, I mean when you wanted elves and dwarves in, and later the wraiths. ;)

Just a question, Matias: what about the orcs and trolls ? NO, I don't ask you to rewrite it, just I suggested them earlier to be units summonable via powers at Rhun's / Harad's side.

And, as a fellow Tolkien-fan, I'm interested in your opinion about what could have happened to them (and how much would they be fitting into the mod; Lauri thought it's not a bad idea, since Khoragon is a "dark lord" and stuff, but I want to hear you, too) ?

heh, you'd be suprised :D I'll leave it to him to write his own thoughts, although, your views on the 4th age is very unsimilar :xcahik_:

I don't mean just that, I mean when you wanted elves and dwarves in, and later the wraiths.

hehe, has it been so long since the first version? dang, that has to be a long time...

Maybe because I tried to make my own mod once (I mentioned it earlier), and it also took place in the 4th age... but I had other ideas about it (my version of the 4th age began after Sauron's fall, and ended with the death of the Mouth of Sauron or such... this isn't the right place to give details about it).

No complaints, Matias has also a good sense of making up a story and has good imagination. And is loyal to Tolkien, a thing I highly appretiate.

I'd rather not have orcs or other mockeries by Morgoth be recruitable by anyone. After Sauron was destroyed, his force no longer filled them, and they scattered and were leaderless. This can even be seen at the very moment Sauron turns his thoughts completely away from his servants during the battle of the Morannon, they immediately fall in doubt and become afraid, even though the host of the West was greatly outnumbered. Orcs were only active when Sauron was, and Sauron is destroyed. They don't multiply nearly as much as they would have when Sauron was around, and I think they'd be easy targets for raids and campaigns by the men of the West. The only way I'd like to see them is as creeps, wandering about an orcish tent and banner for example.

I didn't say that they should be recruitable, I said they could be summonable.

Orcs are spineless creatures and always seek a master to serve, just as you said, and trolls are dumb and easly manipulated by the one who holds great power - Khoragon.

I think it wouldn't cause problems if Rhun would have powers to summon orcs and trolls, since Khoragon has the power to control and lead them (and besides, Khoragon knows that orcs and trolls are effective "tools", doesn't he ?).

NOTE 1 - the number of orcs had greatly reduced after Sauron's fall, we all agree in that. But I think some orc groups had found safe hiding places. And hey, every group has a leader. The orcs have their own leaders, but the source of the problem is that they just seek an "ultimate leader", like Melkor, Sauron... or Khoragon.

Khoragon, by using his sorcery, could call all orcs to him - and so, Rhun could have a power to summon a larger amount of orcs.

NOTE 2 - trolls ? They are rare, but strong, and by a person such as Khoragon has influence over them. If Khoragon could summon the orcs to him, then he can do the same with the trolls - Rhun could have a power to summon 3-4 trolls, that's all.

PS: By the way, is there going to be a REAL campaign ? If yes, then maybe in some maps where Khoragon is controllable, there could be an optional quest to make the orcs and/or trolls in the area join your army, like in certain campaign maps in the original BfME 1 evil campaign.

well, I hope to make a campaing ;) But I'll need to learn how to map, and abit how to quest things ;) But since 3D Max is so bugged for me at the time, I might start out trying to map.... If I learn it quicly, and no other mappers join, I might try to make a few new maps, and also the start on the campaing ;) It could perhaps be fun to play the first 5-6 maps in the good campaing ;) or evil, for that matter ;)
But yeah, I do really want to have a campaing ;) Alot of the maps are already in, they just need some tweaking that's all ;)

Then what I suggested could work, or not ? I remember recruiting Cave Trolls when I chased the Fellowship in the evil campaign. This could also appear in your campaign when controlling Khoragon, or not ?

it might... seeing as Khoragan (note the name... you've mispelled it to much ;)) can manipulate the minds of others, he might aswell manipulate some orcs and trolls on their journey to wipe out the west... so, that could be possible ;)

Then there wouldn't be too much trouble with using them both as summonable units and temporary campaign units, I think.

This is a really cool concept and storyline, Matias. Having the former Mouth of Sauron survive the fall of Barad-Dur is one of those "what ifs" I've always been interested in.

I like how the lines between good and evil are somewhat blurred.

No mention of Blue Wizards, I see. It's kind of neat to see a Fourth Age concept that doesn't revolve around them.

I'm also glad you and Lauri are interested in doing a campaign, too. A Rhun Fortress map would potentially look amazing. I also hate EA's Umbar map, as it contains no hint of the cities former ties to Gondor.

Good luck with it!

I'd go with 2d3, 3d6, 1/2d7, 1d10, 14d12, 8d20, 13 quarters, and a groundhog.

I'm not sure if you'll need all that, but if you figured out a system from it, it would be the greatest in the world.
