Agreed, cities>farms.

It would be nice and unique not only from the generic structure that all the good human factions have, but could potentially be unique from other factions as well;

The main structure would have more armor and the people nearby would make a bit more money than every1 elses' resource buildings but ofc the people are vulnerable, so on 1 hand u have a better economy if u can protect it and better CPs but if enemy units get through, it's easier to mess up ur resource gaining.

I like it a lot ;)

Oh and CIL, if ur going to make a random statement (who mentioned building forts too close???), then explain urself; it's not that Vithar is too stupid to be worth explaining to (which is what u made it look like), but what u said really didnt have much to do with anything and basically came out of nowhere.

I always thought that the market should give you resources. This sounds like a really good idea. Maybe make it work like the lumber mill. There are "gathers" and they get you money some how.

This might seem dumb, but the people who walk around are the ones giving you the resources? Call me a pessimist, but wouldn't that be a little messy to code?

Other than those speculations, I definitely would enjoy having Gondor houses instead of farms. To me, it would be nice to have a change in resource buildings for GOndor and Rohan.

The one problem I see is that the resource buildings for everyone else have to be spaced out (e.g. if you have two Mine Shafts next to each other, the second one doesn't generate many resources). But you can build houses right next to each other. Either the houses need to have to be spaced out or they can't generate as many resources.

I think it should have to be within a certain range of the fortess. So that way it feels like a city.

What if you made it like a Lumber Mill (like AA said), but made it so they gather money from "jobs around the city" or something.

I thought of that a long time ago, but it seemed impractical Taxes would be the logic though ;)

Blacksmith is a better rb for gondor.

The Gondor houses would be interesting. And spacing them out would make perfect sense. If too many people are gathering resources, then you'll have a 'scarcity' of resources.

So, I think that each House would have a larger radius than other rbs but they can pull in more resources. However, if you put them too close, the 'citizens' would find it harder and harder to find resources due to the fact that too many people are around and they are all pulling resources from the same areas and as such, they'd cause a scarcity.

Doesn't need a bigger radius since the advantage of having more money is balanced out by that money being more vulnerable; it's much easier to run down peasants than to take down a farm.

True. I guess the point is that the radius still works well if you add econ into the equation.

Hurray... I contributed an idea... ;)

What would we do about upgrading (if we should)? Like would it eventualy upgrade into a mannor then a mansion or something like that? And like when it upgrades it provides rich folk in slik slippers too? Something to think about if the idea is concidered.

Maybe for an upgrade, the people become a little better at making resources, or perhaps the building it self can be garrisoned.

And, for even more uniquness, maybe once the house reaches level 3, each person gets a body guard. It would just be a non-controllable gondor soldier. Don't know if it's possible, and they really wouldn't do anything(Unless they came FU or something...), but it would be nice to see.......

Or at level 3, some civilians randomly blow up like mines. ;)

Would be sort of weird if you saw a city with mussel backing up everyone. Maybe a house can get guards that are stationed at the house enterance, and go and act whenever someone who belongs to the house (or the house itself) is in danger. Or is that what you meant exacly?

The houses and civilians idea sounds awesome!! a lo more realistic, bfme cities always felt kind of... empty without any villagers, civilians, workers or whatever, unlike games like age of empires or warcraft

GOndor needs the houses too, they were bigger than Arnor ever was.
