The new Moria mission was very fun. The monstrous horde of Goblins really helped recreate the desperate atmosphere of that scene in the film, and almost all the heroes reached level five before the Goblins ran off. It was an excellent chance for wholesale slaughter too, which is always a goof thing xD The resized Balrog with knockback was also pretty awesome, Gandalf ended up backed against the chasm and I had to summon Tom Bombadil to give him a hand - although the heavier damage from Gandalf's lightning attack balanced it a little. The resized Cave Troll was also fun, but I thought he was just a little too easy to kill - Legolas took him down in about four hits plus the twin arrow attack, which is kinda pathetic for one of the two "boss" creatures of the mission. Still, excellent work :p What else can we expect to see after Moria? Will the newer factions be involved? Oh! And I know it could be anticlimactic after the ultimate battle at the Black Gate (which is also kinda anticlimactic at the end...), a Scouring of the Shire mission might be good fun.

im guessing you played this mission from where the campaign used to be? if this is the case, then you are missing out on a lot of good stuff. there is a non-linear (bfme1-style) campaign in wotr mode. all you need to do is select the RJ scenario and make sure that you are gondor. from there you can play a bunch more missions.

NOTE: the elven missions do not work since their rework, so just bear with us and auto-resolve those missions for now.

Sorry if this question was already posted I didnt have the time to read 33 pages. Is the campaign finished yet? It looks really cool. Will it also have the BFME1 campaign layout in which before the fight you are on a map and you choose where you go.
Wait... what?

the campaign currently uses the bfme1 style, but it is not finished as of yet. iirc, that is what is being worked on now. it will likely take a while to finish however as there is a lot of work to do (i believe there are still some units that need to be modeled/skinned, some maps to be made, and some scripts to write).

I checked your reply before mine what was it about selecting the RJ Scenario (WOTR I think this is) and choosing Gondor?
Wait... what?

To access the entire campaign (that's been done) go to War of the Ring, choose the RJ-Scenario game, make sure you're Gondor and go ahead. Move Aragorn's army into Moria to begin. Unfortunately, the elven missions don't work with the new elves yet so you'll have to auto resolve them.

i have a problem with the campain for 1.06 beta, ,it is the war of the ring style campaign thingy :p, when i get to the rivendell part, before it can even load it crashes,is it because i play it on the normal unpatched version or what because i really don't feel like playing the game on the patched version (for my own reasons), i also have windows vista

At one point in the game the battles stop appearing and i conquer all the territories with no problem. Right before I get to Minas Tirith and Osgiliath. It doesn't seem to show up with a battle at Osgiliath or Minas or beyond that point. It's in RJ WOTR

Ok, you're quite lucky I read it :ninja:
Unfortunately mod is quite dead and the forum too....
The only thing that can revive both the mod and the forum is the Return of Robert J. and since the Real life captured him I don't think It's gonna happen soon.
But lets hope anyway.

About the campaign order, I don't realy remember the exact order.. But it should be the same as in BFME1. So you shouldn't play helms deap until you get all the heroes there for example. And however it's better to search for the order of missions googling.
Hope that was somehow useful...
"Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails…. When we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day! An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of Men comes crashing down. But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth I bid you stand, Men of the West!"-King Ellessar

Yo start with the Fellowship in the Moria , then Lothlorien ;then Amon Hen , Eastfold , Fangorn border , Rhudaur and Iron Hills , Isengard , the last level is Helm's Deep :ninja: if my memories are true .

For the time being, you need to simulate the battles with the Elves as their fortress does not yet work correctly in WotR mode.

For the creator who has spent so many hours of long, tedious work on this game in order to enhance the original gaming experience, I must say: Bravo, to the wondrous work you and your team has pulled off! I recently downloaded the mod, and after playing the game for several hours, I have yet to tire of the new system. I am astounded by the creativeness put forth into the new factions! The New War of the Ring campaign that has been created is like a combined version of bfme1 and bfme2 which, in my opinion, was a great idea. The combination of battalions feature was a great idea to also resurrect from bfme1. My only wish, is for you and your team to return and finish what you started; however, due to the lacking livelihood of this forum, and the enormous amount of work it would take to actually finish the mod, I'm guessing that the RJ mod will never come to its full completion.....
