Well, it's more a question than a suggestion, but: how to counter cavalry with MotW? As I see it, there's only the Royal Guard units that's wielding spears against cavalry and they're limited to 2 units. So, what should I use against cavalry?

Not sure we need a separate thread for MotW yet, but ok...

They are the "Tower Guards", or the Fountain Guards as they will be correctly named in next version. (Royal Guard is the upcoming Rohan elite unit, with swords). You will also get regular Gondor Spearmen in next Beta rel... They will be your primary protection against cavalry attacks.

'Moved (Sûl): from somewhere else'

are you still working on the mod ore are you stopped?

if you are still working i've got a little request.
can you give the mini faction rohan normal soldiers like spearman or somthing?
and can you give the peasants random weaps like the orcs?

this is a big request maybe impossible.
can you give rohan his own wall? a wooden one.

Of course we are still working on the mod! ;)

Rohan will not get their own walls anytime in the near future.
The spear carrier peasants. Maybe. It's not set. But we'll diversify the specific units whenever we find the time to fiddle with the details.

Welcome to the forums! :p
Best you read the 'read first' section first, just to make sure ...
Btw, your comments and request would have best been posted either under the general comments and suggestions or under the 'suggestions for MotW' thread.

Both are in the development section. Which is why i will now close the thread and later move the posts to where they belong. So don't worry if your posts seem to have disappeared. :p

Edit:Moved from 'there' to 'here' as well

RotWK is using Rohan spearmen as crappy anti-cavalry units. I think a good suggestion would be to add them in and spawn them from the farms instead of the peasants. Or along with the peasants, whatever's good.

As long as we don't port to RotWK, we can't use stuff from that expansion. Legal matters... (See separate thread about that in the "Welcome" section of these forums)...

I think that pesants are very weak and cheap units so maybe to make them more verstile in their battalion there could be rohan spearmen and rohan pesants

We do have a very nice unused model from TDP that is a rohan spearman. Maybe we could implement it into the Peasant units as an extra model. I'll consider it for Beta V...

Could you add the spearmen that you see in the movies to Gondor instead of having just elite units to do that. I remember Cahik making one maybe you could ask him if you could use it?

Is there a way to get an armor boost for Ithilien Rangers when they are in the trees? The engine obviously recognizes it for stealth purposes but can it recognize terrain for other benefits and penalties as well?

Ithilien Rangers (and Mirkwood Archers) should be very tough in the woods but very fragile when on open ground.

I don't know if this is possible, as it would take up a new slot in the Hero's special abilities, but would it be possible to add a mount/dismount Brego for Aragorn? It was without a doubt in the movies, and the horse played a (somewhat) big part in "Two Towers" (Extended Edition)

How about having Peasants buildable from Farms from the get go and also having Farms provide them with a leadership bonus? The idea is that Peasants will be adequate at defending their homes but will not become decent infantry until drafted, upgraded, and led by a Rohan hero.

Maybe also have Yeoman Archers buildable from Farms once an Archery Range is built (again, make them next to useless offensively until they have upgrades and leadership.

As of 4.0, There little reason for a MotW player to use either Peasants or Yeomen, because the Gondor Infantry and Archers are better options. It's missing that fun BFME1 Rohan element where the weak and fragile Rohan troops could eventually, with leadership and upgrades, become a match for any other faction's if kept alive long enough.

Interesting! I have to see what the stupid hardcoded AI would make of this. But from a 'what do i really need to build' POV, peasants are definitely not needed right now.

perhaps the peasants could work like a lair....and they'd hang out around it and defend it when the enemy got close...

btw Dzhon....you're ideas are awesome. =)
