That's it!!!! So what you think? I think bannor glows would be really useful for leadership markings, or not?

Dalf, leadership FXs do cause the most amount of lag, even if your computer is decent. Removing them would just improve the quality of the gameplay.

I agree i never liked them anyway, i mean they just look funny. the one leadership with stars floating around the battalion is alright but the glow its kinda just wierd lookin.

its on the banners, all of them have it.

for myself, i would prefer going back to bfme1 style of leadership.

Right now I'm exploring all the different options of effect for leadership that are found in the game and BFME1. Also, I've thought about doing my own effects.

The stars are more than likely staying, but the glows are going to be changed as well as new fx. They just completely ruin many or the screens and they do add to lag, especially in large numbers.

alrite, iv been a bit misunderstood her; i was just sayin i never really noticed a significant lag effect frum leadership, but then again, i may not hav noticed it at all bc i run a couple other programs wenever i play (xfire 4 example) and my comp isnt that great.

it wuld b pretty kool 2 use the glow-type effects frum the banner carriers, but then how do u c it on lvl 1 units? thats my only problem w/ it. o, and also, how wuld u show stacking?

the leadership circles wuld b mor bearable imo if they wer planted completely on the ground as opposed 2 floating lik they do now. bc then u wuldnt really c em in screens unless u wer top-down (so the unit view wuld look better).

my only gripe w/ bfme1 leadership glow is that wen compared 2 the ultra-specific circles/stars combo it is not rly possible 2 tell wat kind of leadership the r affected by. so mayb if rob implemented 3 diff kinds of fx; stars, bfme1 glow (mayb), and sumthin else.

a little rambly, sry.

Well, here is something quick. A quick view into some of what is being added.

Credit goes to Flameguard and SEE. I'm adding/polishing the buildup animations for them, but here you go:

Credit for this goes to Fingulfin as the base. I've re-worked the models/anims and I am working on the damage states and other things, but mostly working on getting rid of the overlap, re-modelling them, and so forth to polish them up:

These two things are just some of what I have been working on.

Not the evil walls for Mordor, I hope? They did a great job on the walls but some races are just better without them. Unless you plan to add those walls to the Men of the East, which would be ok since they're going to be a mix of a good faction and an evil faction (I assume?).

The bottom one looks Rohan-ish to me. The top one could work for the Naughty-Men, but the spikes and base fins do give it that distinct Mordor feel to it. Of course, since both the Haradrim and the Easterlings were working for Mordor during the WotR, I guess it’s not beyond imagination that there may be similarities in their architecture.

:O of course its mordor and rohan. lol, looks at mordor and isengard. their factions were entirely about walls. I mean, mordor was just one huge walled of area, and isen too. I've seen those rohan walls, but not with the stone parts.

Btw, what gave you the idea that evil men/men of the east is going to be a mix of evil and good? the transfer to men of the east is just a name change since they already fit that already, and evil men doesnt sound very much like a good faction ;)

Yes, they are for Rohan and Mordor. Goblins will not be getting walls, and Mordor's walls will cost much more than other factions.

just how thick r those rohan walls? i cant tell frum the pic.

and i hop that the mordor walls dont play quite as large a part in mordor as they do in say gondor or dwarves.
