Your point is?

Just about every other evil realm and stronghold in BFME2 has an existing map regardless of it's destructions, so why not Barad-dur?
I will remember Rhovanion Alliance, RIP .

My point was to say to Grig that MOTW couldnt have occupied Barad dur after saurons downfall, because it went kaplooie! I was only remarking on his hypothetical fantasy.

My hypothetical fantasy was just that - hypothetical. I guarantee you there'll be no REAL point in the overall play-through for it :wink_new: but I will enjoy it

:p That looks amazing! :p My only complaint is that there seems to be a lack of building space within the tower...

Well, it could have build-plots. Or the lack of space could be balanced with some outposts, or perhaps it is just a weakness of being in the strongest fortress in Middle Earth?
Greetings, community.

I don't think build space will be a problem, the lower level is the size of the lower level of EA's Minas tirith, I plan to have a second level with the fortress object and more build space. So you all are going to have to wait and see.

Unfortunately no, Its just a static object. However Im using the Dol gulder fortress at its base to represent a portion of the tower, that can be destroyed though.

Well considering that the tower is 'held' in Saurons power *shrug* unless he's 'dead' it wouldn't be completely destroyed - and he can't die unless the ring is destroyed. So that's probably for the best ^^

Thats incredible! :shiftee: How do you create such awesome maps so quickly. One thing I noticed though is that the base just doesnt seem to fit right with the tower. It could just be my wierd view of things but the outer wall looks to far out. I guess thats necessary though in order to have build room. Anyway keep up the great work!

HAHA! Yeah I had to make a sacrifice in order to get build room. I wish I didnt have to make that kind of adjustment but it was the best i could do, the other alternative wuld be to jut have one level at the base and use the second level tower object but there wouldnt be enough space to build a full base. In point of fact i havent tested the build space in game yet so dont be surprised if I run into little hiccups. :shiftee:

The walls need to be blacker... :shiftee:

Lookin' good :shiftee:

But the base of the tower needs to be more rocky, that's why it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the fortress

Yeah the walls arent black enough to match the tower, but thats something outta my hands i have 0 retexturing experience. I have set the map time to night to darken it a bit more I had it set to morning to give a reddish glow that would be coming from mount doom but it makes everything too red.

The rocky portions are something im in the process of doing:

I have a question for experienced mappers, Why do the barad dur parts dissapear every time i reload the map? I save it with them but when i reopen it they are gone :shiftee: I wonder if its because they go above a certain field of play and WB removes them because of it.

EDIT: The towers pieces seem to be staying now I have no idea why i had the problem in the first place, oh well.
I think i m going to rebuild it all over again the lower level is about the size of minas tirith 2nd level, Im going to use the first level as a template instead. So rebuild here i go.
